Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

What i love is when these same indviduals turn around and ask basic level intro questions about nutrition and programming. So lets see you got guys who aren’t knowledgeable enough to slap together a rudimentary plan . Yet they want to leap frog into the next level.

Isn’t this why you get married? To live longer? I say that as a dude that burned the candle at both ends and 4 spots in the middle growing up. Now that I’ve slowed down a bit I have no idea how I used to do it.

I’m now thinking of one of my father’s favorite jokes:

Why do Men usually die before their wives?
Because they want to.

You see - I was 99% sure I wasnt gonna do a cycle because of my wife. The research was always academic really. And if it wasnt for my wife I’m 50/50 I would.
But shes not a fan. I thought about hiding it from her. But the thing is if she found out it would be divorce time. Not because of the drugs. But the lying.
We are a very honest couple. To the point where people that know us struggle to see how it “works”.

It’s the Google generation. If the answer isn’t immediate or they can’t get the desired results immediately, shortcuts are sought out.
I always thought gear was something you turned to after reaching peak natural performance…

Not sure if this is something new to this generation. Gear’s always been seen as easier than training hard.

Wasn’t it Ronnie Coleman who said, “Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder, but nobody wants to lift heavy-ass weights!”

Something like that. If his words are to be believed, King Coleman didn’t do any steroids until after he won Mr. Universe in the Urkraine (per his book and interview with Joe Rogan).

I was first offered a cycle at the age of 17, when some guys I was working with at a furniture warehouse went on a cycle. Each of them was smaller than me, but put on an impressive amount of muscle without working any harder. It also turned them into raging a-holes…

I’ve said it before. If you cant dedicate 3/4 years to eating well and working hard steer clear of PEDs.
Because you’ll be dedicating 6 months of your life to a cycle (12 weeks on, 3 week before PCT, 4 weeks of PCT 4 weeks after that to normalise is 23 weeks).

And this shit goes side ways - you’ll be dedicating the rest of your life to injections E3.5d.

Before you commit to any of that make sure this life is for you.

We have deep romantic talks like. “I’m bored. There’s nothing new on Netflix. Take off your pants.” (That’s the Mrs’s form of Covid romantic talk.)

No need to rub it in. I’d kill for a relationship like that lol

3/4 years is reasonable but… your going to be hard press in finding someone starting out today who will do that. If you factor in there is a 90% drop off rate in three years for most that get interested in lifting.

Not new at all, sadly. In the 1960s, John McCallum wrote in Strength & Health magazine: “You can’t expect king-size muscles from baby-size weights.”

I’ve said the same thing, but change 3-4 years to 3-6 months and change PEDs to TRT. The number of overweight, out of shape guys jumping right to medication without the slightest hint of lifestyle change will never stop being disheartening.

Confession: I had a dream last night that we had a pug puppy and he was the fattest, snortiest, goofiest looking mushface ever. I feel like his name might’ve been Dante. I was a little bummed out when I woke up.

I’ve seen that and after the whole deluge of substances, theories, bloods and jargon that gets thrown around I’m still left with one question:

“Has this guy tried maybe some exercise? Like Taking a walk or maybe moving a dumbell or two?”.

The answer always seems to be no.

Yeah - fat ups your E. Working out ups your T.

If you’re free T is low show some dietary restraint and hit the gym 3 days a week.
I appreciate TRT for a medical process. And its 100% legitimate. But when people dont do the self care stuff first its like watch a pre-diabetic person just skip to insulin injection.

And it ties in with this:

And this:

People want it easy AND they want it now.

I got goofy mush face for you…

You mean like “I want to gain muscle and lose fat as fast as humanly possible. I have access to a treadmill and a couple of bands, what drugs done need?”

Unless I’ve imagined it, that’s pretty much a direct quote from a recent thread.
