fish oil

I just started taking 6g epa/dha in the form of 20 fish oil caps. Can I take this all in one meal or do I have to divide them up. I already take so many pills per day its hard to divide them all up and take them at different times.

I would like to know too. I have been taking all mine at night with a protein shake. That way I don’t have fish burps all day long.

Preferably take them in 2 divided dosages. I really doubt if it matters any if at all as far as benefits go but you will probably get better absorption and assimilation splitting them up a little. 6 grams combines EPA/DHA is a lot of oil to assimilate at once for your body no matter how you get it.

I don’t see anything wrong with taking them all at once. I actually remember reading somewhere that concentrations don’t noticeably increase for weeks after one begins consumption. In other words, as long as you have some sort of a steady stream on a daily basis, it won’t make a huge difference in the long run. I don’t think your scenario is any different than someone who just eats a buttload of salmon all at once to get the job done.

I take flax oil during the day and fish oil b-4 bed. This should spread out the EPA and DHA throughout the day without the fish burps.

I wrote JB about this same thing the other day and got this reply…

“the EPA DHA can be all take at once but I’d rather split it up.”

I take it to mean if splitting it is viable, then perhaps do so. If not, no biggie, just take all at once.

I like to split them up into three different doses. preferly taking the with a solid meal. I find it helps with the digestion of all the fat, and reduces the fish burps.

6grams is too much to digest at one time? Could you explain this one to me more. I take 14.5 grams of udo’s oil in every shake (2 scoops Relentless, 2 scoops Ultra Peptide and one tablespoon of udos) I love it. Please tell me more about this. Late

6 grams DHA/EPA is a lot more than 6 grams of total oil…it’s more like 24 grams. I’m just speculating that maybe assimilation would be better in divided doses
