Went to brazilian jujitsu class tonight for the first time. Got beat down three times, but it was FREAKIN INCREDIBLE. Best workout! It was so amazing. Although from the feeling in my neck I know its gonna be sore as FUCK tomorrow morning. WOW.
I started BJJ in 1997, took it for a few years.
If you are going to stay with it make sure you get a good neck harness and train that neck at least twice per week. Use reps in the 12 to 20 rep range. Do about three sets.
You will also feel a lot of tension in your forearms as they get an incredible workout too from grappling.

No, you want to bridge, bridge, bridge. using weights will only put kinks and cramps in your neck.

Do bridges man and if you’re gonna be a grappler work your back, that’s your leverage, a lot of chins and pulls weighted and non weighted.
