First Post, Looking For Advice

First off I just wanted to say this is one of the best sites I have been to over the years.
I am 6’4" and currently weigh 238lbs. This is down from 289lbs in the last 6 months. I have been trying to maintain between 1500 and 1800 calories a day, work out 4 to 5 days a week but without a good workout(just winging it) and started running (running sucks so bad).

I was at 36% bodyfat when I started and now down to 21% but I have hit that sticking point. Protein and some supplemts(store bought) i have been using. I did a few cycles several years ago when I was big into sports, job that I have now would require prescription and be legit(any info on this PM me).

I was intrested in any info on a good diet (no carb, no fat)also which meal supplements are worth it( work shift work and always on road, need healthy replacement when I can’t cook)just wondering which is best along with a good workout to help tone more than pack on power.

My goal is to get to 215-220lbs and bodyfat between 5-12%. Any advice is greatfull.

You know what a good diet is? It consists of A LOT of fruits and veggies with every meal along with some lean protein sources.

Do this 5-7 times a day for the rest of your life, and you’ll have better body composition and better health.

Stay away from sugar, processed foods, man-made foods and all the other crap out there, and you’ll be good to go.

^^^Listen to this, first of all.

Supplements: You don’t need AAS at this point. Some protein powder and creatine, maybe a T booster will be all you’ll need.

Routines: It sounds like you need to get more regular in your workouts. It’s not clear from your post, to me, if you even go to a gym. If not, join a good one and find a training program on this site. Almost any of them will get you results at this stage.

It sounds like you’ve made a lot of good progress already, but now you’ve hit the sticking point. To continue improvement, you’ll need to really rededicate yourself and take the training and food seriously. Eat clean food and lift and run religiously month after month, and you’ll get that bodyfat % into the teens. But, getting it into the single digits is another matter entirely.

If you’ve been at 1500-1800 for the entire 6 months at your bodyweight…it’s no wonder you’ve hit a plateau. Your body has figured out you’re starving it…and it’s revolting!
-Well, not really. But it has figured out how to exist on fewer calories each day. It’s about time you started thinking about a cyclical plan.

The Anabolic Diet is just such a plan and it’s a real crowd favorite here on the Nation.

As for your training…you’ve gotten some good advice so far. This site is chock-full of good routines!
I’ve heard real good things about CW’s Summer Program and it seems to be right up your alley -goal wise.
Maybe you could give that a shot.

You can find it on the Homepage under ‘Most Recent Articles.’

Read the newbie thread if you haven’t already:

Also, you need dietary fat to be generally healthy. You don’t need to eat a no carb no fat diet to lose weight.

Look up “The 7 habits of highly effective diets”. Probably the best article I could point you too at this point.

Once you have got that down, look up “Tailor Made Nutrition”. I say AFTER because the tailor made series is probably the most demanding diet in terms of input and tracking their could possibly be. However, the rewards are definitely worth it.

Great advice! I second that!! Please read up about good dietary fat recommendations on this site, using the search feature. Most especially if you’re training. And good luck!!
