First Meet, Maine Open Iron Bash, Anyone Going?

first off is anyone going to the maine open iron bash i have a few questions about it since its my first meet!

  1. can you index finger be past the ring when you bench? (like ultra wide)
  2. can your ass come off the bench when u bench
  3. is parallel or just below? on squats

  1. No…index finger on the ring is the max legal width in every fed that I know of…

  2. No.

  3. Every fed I know of requires that the crease of the hip joint descend below the top surface of the knees at the bottom of the squat. Stringency of enforcement varies by federation.

What Ramo said. There will probably be a rules briefing before the lifting, so definitely go and listen. They will tell you EXACTELY what you need to know and answer any questions you might have.

Did you go to the “Maine Games” a few months ago up in Brewer?

i did not go there, this will be freeport maine i believe july 27th
its my first meet looking foward to it!
