I saw that (and thought it was one of the best looking MM’s he posted IMO) when I skimmed the whole thread again to make sure he didn’t post one like what I’m saying, but he’s not really popping his traps up in it, so it’s not quite what I meant.
Once again, that version of MM only looks good with huge arms. Of all the MM’s that Ebomb posted that displays his physique in by far the worst way. I Seriously don’t understand how some of you guys don’t see these things that appear obvious, I guess it just comes down to experience.

The crab MM usually does look pretty bad on natural guys and it does with Evan too. That’s why noone said anything about it except for Blaze_108. Noone liked the ‘half and half’ MM either and so noone commented on it. Hands on hips MMs seem to be popular in natural bodybuilding though. Hands clasped does look to be the best for Evan, if he fixes his posing. Hands on hips is definitely still good though. I’m not sure why you’re so uptight about this.

Wasn’t referring to you as you actually made a good point about that pose and how the hands clasped MM made him look narrow because he did not flex his lats/push his shoulders out and you were right. However, I’m uptight about mainly because myself and others have spent a great deal of time helping Evan with his posing and when people bandwagon poses/give advice that clearly does not look the best and tell him to start doing vacuums and nonsense like that it becomes annoying. Obviously it’s his thread and he’s just entertaining requests for different poses but I don’t want to see him get on stage and use something that clearly does not look best because a few randoms on this forum thought it looked good.

I figured you were talking to me because I was being quoted but I guess not. I figured he had the Facebook BOI in his corner so he’s in good hands regardless of what advice he gets from this forum. I’ve always tried to give useful constructive criticism in this and your thread and a few others like it just because very few ever give it. I get being annoyed at some of the stuff proposed though (vacuums…lol).

I appreciate all the advice that people are giving and the support of course.

This is open to anyone that wants to weigh in. I will entertain requests, but as you know, will play to my strengths in posing.

I’ll post updates this weekend.

This pose looks awesome for you. I’d incorporate it for sure.

Sorry Way, I was just thinking out loud. Surely he wouldn’t seriously take my advice on posing over yours anyway (not if he know’s what’s good for him, lol), so what’s the real issue?

I suppose it’s a bit like someone asking me for PED advice and having a newbie popping in to comment ‘have you tried winstrol’ or whatever. Personally i don’t think I would find it all that annoying, but clearly you do.

Anyway, enough said I think. I’ll try to keep my questions and opinions to myself in this thread from now on

Didn’t really mean to come off like that, although I know it sounded that way. I guess when you work with someone everyday on something for weeks in helping them perfect it and everything looks good and then other people think he should try something else, it becomes frustrating. Sorry if that came off rude man, didn’t mean to.

I guess it’s kinda like one of those things when you spend a lot of timeon something, for instance giving someone PED advice and then out of nowhere your guy tells you someone told him something else and wants to give it a go instead. Being in that position is equally frustrating. Or if someone was contradicting something you had told ZK with his rehab.

As far as vacuums go, there have been several instances of competitors being marked off for using that in their poses. I can’t remember who it was, it’s been a while, but one competitor mentioned that a friend of his was told by one of the judges that if he continued to use vacuum poses he would be penalized for it. It’s not coincidence that it is non existent in NPC and pro bodybuilding now. Jason Huh is the only person I’ve ever seen use it anytime recently.

And what is so humorous about a vacuum pose?

BBB
I’ll PM you.

Edit: Or not. lol. Got an email? I don’t feel like cluttering Evan’s thread with what’s going to end up as an argument.

It’s cool my man, really.

I was actually only thinking of a possible vacuum pose in his own routine, not during the mandatories, so I should have been more clear.

Since you don’t really get marked (from what everyone tells me) for your routine, then that would not count against him. Or would it?

BBB
I really have no idea if the mandate of routines not being judged goes beyond the IFBB/NPC. But if that’s the case with this natty federation too then he could do all the vacuums he desired in his routine, yah lol.

FTR, I’m proposing these more out of interest in how they look when he does them as opposed to saying he should necessarily do them for the comp (though obv, if he posted a picture and it looked good, it would be worth consideration).

Also, as someone with proportionally small arms,It seems to me that pretty much every MM position highlights that fact, at least as far as I’ve noticed, there’s not too much of a difference between the positions in that respect. Not going to get into a big debate over it here though.

Keep killing it Evan, sorry for the semi-hijack.

It’s unlikely to end up as an argument, since I clearly don’t know what I’m talking about (that’s not me being facetious, but honest) when it comes to posing. Therefore I’m happy to be shown where and why my opinion is wrong.

However you’re comment (the way it was framed) was a bit facetious and I can’t really be arsed getting into that, certainly not on Evans’ thread.

If I put up an email, my post gets deleted. That’s just how it is. I don’t like you enough to bother one of my friends to pass it on, so I suggest we just leave it here, no offence.

BBB
Believe me, the feeling is mutual. Somehow I missed Waylanderxx’s post but he covered the same points I would have. I’ll add that when a first-time competitor is doing a very competitive show it seems laughable to try to add ‘flair points’ to all his mandatories by having him do vacuums when this would probably get him marked down. Instead he should just work on absolutely nailing the basics.

I apologize for my friend Waylander. He thinks because he is 290lbs with abs he can just boss everyone around…

Now that would have been so much better than ‘vacuums…lol’ which wasn’t to your credit IMO.

Never mind mate, water under the bridge.

Can we be friends now?

I feel like when I first came to this site I was way too serious so now I just try to keep it loose. I don’t think I’ve met many members that I haven’t liked but to make it official, I’ll send you a friend request =)

ebomb5522, read the whole thread because I’m trying to learn for my own contest prep, so thanks for posting all this info mate.

I was quite envious that you had Layne on board for your coaching. I emailed him because I wanted to sign him up for some online coaching, but he never replied. :frowning: Will you use his peak weak recommendations outlined on his recent video series? He’s not a big believer in mixing things up too much in the final week, so I’m curious what others think.

Looking great man! Solid base for someone so young. Big future ahead is my prediction.

@ David: Thanks man, I’ll try this one tomorrow or Sat when I take pics.

@ Random: I’m not sure what we’re gonna do for peaking yet. Thanks for the comments and support!

Good to see that everyone’s getting along again : ).

I wanted to post what I’m eating just to give you guys an idea:

5:00 AM: 4 Multi Grain Sandwich Thins, 5.5 ounces chicken breast w/grillmates seasoning, 1.5 tbsp reduced sugar ketchup, 1/2 Mixed Berry Bliss Quest Bar (heated in the microwave, these things are heaven)

7:40-9:00 AM: Workout nutrition: 35 grams Vitargo, 6 grams beta alanine, 6 grams creatine mono, 4 scoops Xtend

12:45 PM: 4 Multi Grain Sandwich Thins, 5.5 ounces chicken breast w/grillmates seasoning, 1.5 tbsp reduced sugar ketchup, 1/2 Mixed Berry Bliss Quest Bar

5:00 PM: 205 grams fat free cottage cheese, 40 grams peanut butter + flax, 1 scoop Delicious Greens 8000, 1.5 scoops protein, splenda, 1 MHP Power Pudding

9:00 PM: 4 slices Applegate Farms turkey bacon, 5 omega 3 eggs, 1 bag of Broccoli

This is an example of a “low day.” Unfortunately, since I usually train very early right now, I have to spread out my meals quite a bit, but I don’t get too hungry often because they are fairly large. I’ll post a sample high day when I have one.
