Finish What You Started

crap, can’t do the one I found in September since you had to have competed already. hmm…

There’s one in July. ACK…too much pressure!

I think I’ll go back to my original plan. Keep it fun, but push myself more. Beat the log book and get ready for that bikini, etc…

I’ll keep my eye out for other opportunities though. Maybe I’ll just go out with a bang in 2012, since thats when we are leaving this state.

I don’t usual;y like to speak up in terms of programs and such - there are better educated people in our gang but personally I’ll do a breakdown that ramps up to close to my max.

bench 95 - 1x12 warm up (I need to add weight to my warmup)
115 1x8
125 1x5
135 1x3
145 1x1

I’ve read somewhere to aim for 20 reps total. Warm up set and then anything for less than 5 reps is my way of looking at strength. 5x5 or 2x5,4,3,2,1.

don’t know if that makes sense MIM.sorry about that.

Oooh, a hair cut! Next time you should donate your tresses to “locks of love”. I would, but my hair grows so sloooow.

I also can’t speak for programs b/c I’m a newb. But I stuck with Starr’s 5x5 and that did wonders for me. But I’m a square, so 5x5 appealed to me - literally. Plus I don’t like pulling singles.

I love that you’re getting back on the heave lifting program - something different might be a good change for you. Altho who am I going to steal my complexes/circuits from?!

No problem, N…

I like hearing different opinions…thanks for the input.

Do you train each lift once a week exactly like that set up?

Hey Maschy!! Focus will be heavy on the main lifts…I’ll still keep circuit-y stuff in, just for you!

I would have had to cut even more off my hair to get to the un-damaged stuff that would have been worth donating. I asked though!!

Hair probably would have been just under shoulder length…wasn’t ready.

Eek I panicked when you said you cut your hair. It still looks pretty long to me. Mine is around that length (maybe an inch or two shorter).

ya, it’s still long but not ‘down to my butt crack,’ long…

Love the new hair cut girlie!

Hey you didn’t go hiking yesterday by any chance did you?

I saw someone who kind of looked like you

In high school I had hair as long as yours is right now. Except really curly and frizzy and I looked like Cousin It.

So, my sister said “hey, sit down right here and watch TV while I trim off the split ends.” So, I did. When I stood up, I had shoulder-length hair! Lotta love sisters.

It looks cute.

For strength training, I’ve been doing 5/3/1. I like it because its easy to follow the set/rep scheme and you can get creative with accessory stuff.

I usually plan to lift heavy for 1 lift at a time and then work throw 3-5 accessory lifts.

day 1

deads
155 1x5
185 1x5
205 1x3
225 1x2
245 1x1
255 1x1
225 1x3

accessories: abs, facepulls, curls ect…

day 2

bench

95 1x8
115 1x6
125 1x5
135 1x3
115 1x5

accessories…

day 3

squat

95 1x8
115 2x5
135 2x3
155 1x1
115 1x5

accessories.
vary from this but generally it really looks like that and has been working well for me. I don’t get excited over programs and I just push it as hard as I can everytime and back off when it’s a not so good day.

Hmm, thanks N!!

Strangely empty in the weight training portion of the gym, but wouldn’t you know allll the cardio machines were occupied.
I was tag-teamed by two of the PT’s there trying to talk me into getting spin certified…I glanced toward the barbell on the floor which was loaded with 225 at that moment, and I wanted to say, ‘Thanks, but no thanks.’ But just did my usual nod n smile instead.

I think I’m over PT’ing. I haven’t said anything because then I’d have to pay for my membership. Right now it’s free because I ‘work,’ there.

But I can’t compete with the likes of db press/flutter kick combos…it’s sickening.

Shorter hair looks great, Mim!! And get out of that bubble, COMPETE!

Why not, right?

Training:

185x3
205x3
went for 245- wasn’t moving

205x3
tired

This.

I’ve done 1 spin class in my life and will never, EVER, do that shit again! I couldn’t walk right for days after that thing…the seats on that bike VIOLATED ME!

Don’t stop your PT gig, if for no other reason than free gym membership!

But that means I have to keep acting like i care…hmph.

I’ve taken a spinning class before and it was kinda fun!(shhhhhh) But I don’t think it would be fun if I HAD to do it.

Alpha!!! Good to “see,” you. I trust the Holidays treated you well?
And no, that wasn’t me hiking…boo. It was awesome weather that day too!
