Alpha!!! Good to “see,” you. I trust the Holidays treated you well?
And no, that wasn’t me hiking…boo. It was awesome weather that day too!
Definitely! Had a blast, maybe too much of a blast! I’m still killing it over in my part of the world! When i do some pics in a week or so i will make sure you get some just to prove that i haven’t been eating nothing but ice cream and cookies!
I’m back on the clean food wagon, and addind<GASP!> cardio!!
so I’ll resume my progress pics as well…Have you picked out what color bikini you will wear in 6 months? haha!
I’ll have to visit your side of the world actually. Haven’t forgotten aboutcha though!
DL-
135x5
155x5
185x3
205x3
went for 245- wasn’t moving
235- nope
fuggit
225x2
205x3
tired

See what happens when you get greedy? A 40lb increase was a bit much, but I know the feeling.
I’ve been doing heavy triples since Sept. to increase my DL, something along these lines:
135x5-8
185x5
215x5
3x230x5 - work set
That is where I started, I can now do 3x260x5. At this point, I’ll drop the reps to 3x3 because the volume at that weight prolongs my recovery and interferes with squatting now. I DL every 10-12 days to ensure adequate recovery, but I am old and I need the time. My 1 rep max has gone up by 15 lbs, from the occasion successful 275 to and easy 275, and max of 290.
For squatting, I’m using higher volume:
135x5
2x155x5
5x185x5
5x135
In the same time period, my max raw squat has moved from an easy 205-210 to 2x230. I had hit a shaky 225 in the past, but only once.
Food for thought, volume at about 80% of your tested or assumed rep max. Has helped me get stronger, and added some meat on my frame as well. Not sure if I’m leaner, but I do like my cookies.
And, your right. Hardly any cardio. Nothing that got progressively more challenging/harder anyway. I want to push that more. Its cool to be strong but I also want to keep up with my kids!
Diana- thanks for the input! makes sense. It takes me awhile to recover from DL’s as well! Congrats on all your success thus far. I assume you are just doing this for YOU now, right?

Is that reps/weight/sets?

correct, reps, weight, sets
I never did it for anyone else. More like in spite of everyone else.

I would have had to cut even more off my hair to get to the un-damaged stuff that would have been worth donating. I asked though!!
Hair probably would have been just under shoulder length…wasn’t ready.
Hot Diggity Damn Momma… I LOVE it! Aren’t you just the cutest thing.
You would do great in a meet! The spin class would add another element to your training as well. I personally love to hit the bike.
Vit b3 deficiency in relation to the asparagus, from what I believe…You are on the money CBear.
Print(and all) this is a pic of a pic of me about 9 years ago! But it’s the look I’m thinking of going back towards.
CB- I seem to remember Molly talking about that!
Tim- thanks. I do intervals on the upright bike from time to time. I do enjoy it, but I dont feel the need/desire to get certified and become a slave to it. I think a meet would be FUN! The timing for it doesn’t seem to fit this year.
