seeee? I can be creative…
Mmmmm, I think I’m going to have to cook some asparagus for dinner now!
Yay for creativity!
I love asparagus. Mmmmm. Actually, I’m lucky enough to love all veggies except cucumbers.
is that smoked salmon MIM? that plate looks all kinds of yummy ![]()
yep, it’s my ‘sushi.’ Fat free cream cheese, wasabi paste mixed together and spread onto salmon…sesame seeds and soy sauce on top.
grr, I need a nap but can’t take one…sucky.
yum!
kimba- how do you not like cucumbers? wtf is WRONG with you?
theyre part of my fav subway sammich. i know youre wondering, so this is it;
footlong italian herbs and cheese
provolone
chicken breast
LOTS of spinach (usually hafta tell em to put more on, twice
onion
cucumber
salt/pepper
honey mustard.
the chicken is kept in a heated thingy, so the cheese is melty when i get to it and the spinach heats just enough for me to be able to squash it and get it in my mouth.
mim- oh and btw, applause for makin ur own sushi. i should try that. im a BIG fan of sushi. curious, if you did your hair yourself, how many bottles of the crap does it take? mine uses almost the whole thing and i dread the day i hafta start buying two. im cheap.
My fave is a subway club footlong on wheat, no cheese, extra meat…
mayo
extra tomatos
cucumbers
spinach
salt/ pepper
oil/ vinegar
It takes two bottles of dye for my hair, but lately I’ve only been doing the roots and little strands. I like long walks on the beach and canoeing.

HAHAHA! I also grant you permission! In fact I urge you!
Of course I love my booty shorts - but like Kimba said, if you show leg, no boobs and vice versa. Thems the rulez!
I happen to like the black!! I think it makes you look exotic…[/quote]
I am against these rules all of you keep speaking of! You are looking so great MIM, and somehow bad food seems so much less appealing when you can actually see the results happening…
Keep at it!
Hey Alpha, thanks for taking the time to drop in. Glad to see you are safe and thanks for the kind words.
Nothing tastes as good as looking good feels.
Having said that I had a fight with some pre- made brownies. They were in the cart two times. Each time I put them back and walked away. LOL!
I’ve been in diet mode for 4 weeks now…making noticeable progress. Pics don’t lie!
I’m taking this thing two weeks at a time.
Who knows…I may just ride this out and see what happens. I didn’t get this far by taking the moderate approach. I’m feeling the pressure to meet my goals and I like it.
CBear, its genetics. Neither my mom nor sister can stand them either. BLECH! Contemplating that sammich (minus the cukes) has made me ravenous.
Betty 1, Brownies 0
Just the way it should be. Two weeks at a time is working awesome for you. Just a little bit more and you’ll “finish what you started”!
That brownie moment is strong of you. I’ve done the same. Sometimes I’ll buy something decadent have a bite and trash the rest thinking that’s the price of my lack of will. and once it’s in the garbage its too gross to reach in and take it out… right?

I see what you did there… clever.

…um…er…yeah…awkward laugh
Well done Mim! You madam, are a master of your domain.
Hey yall…
I feel soft. Can one lose enough muscle in a week to feel that way, or am I just imagining it?
If it weren’t for this snot pounding headache and crud residing in my lungs I’d go train of course.
I’m hoping I’m back in there by Monday or Tuesday. I’ll take this weekend to eat some beneficial foods, because all I have is about 800 calories worth of ritz crackers floating around in my system from the last couple days…and then it’s back on the diet bandwagon.
Kinda makes me wonder though…if I have to eat like a rabbit to get the weight off, does that mean I have to keep eating like a rabbit to KEEP it off? ughhh
Being sick and taking care of the house and kids is the hardest job I’ve ever had… I’ll take all the vitamins in the world if it means not getting a cold again.

You’re probably used to having the mad pumpz. Plus if you are not eating then your muscles go a bit flat. No worries.
Can you get a protein shake down?
Think of it like strength training. You have to bust your balls (question…what is the female equivalent of this phrase…hmmm) to get there but can train much less frequently to maintain. Your maintenance calories will be higher than now.
Yes…yes it is the hardest job. I was home for 6 months when the kids were younger. Wonderful but not easy.
lol@ mad pumpz…
yes, I can get a protein shake down. Starting to feel better, kinda. When I wake all the congestion has pooled in my head and it takes a few hours to start feeling human after waking… colds suck.
GD- was your wife military or somethin? This is our 4th deployment…3rd with having to take care of the kiddos. 1st one was a breeze when it was just me I had to worry about.
And I’m dreaming of maintenance land. To maintain my weight like Kimba, but to get stronger(and hotter!) ![]()
So what do you all think about this ‘new,’ fasting thing?
I don’t feel so looney for having two fast days a week.
My posts will probably get delayed for saying this, but I can’t justify spending that much money to fast. Nor do I think I have that much muscle to preserve that I need such supps. To each there own.
But why not just drink protein shakes all day 2 days a week to preserve muscle?? shrugs
Taking the kiddos to the pumpkin farm today…here’s hoping I don’t get lost in the corn maze.
I’d say protein shake with fish oils and a multi - that would be a basic package.
have fun at the pumpkin farm!
That’s the one cruddy thing of condo living. I don’t get to have fun handing out treats.

Nope. Not military just 2 kids 15 months apart, both of us working then downsizing of me, my mum moving in for a year, then she got her own place (two women in the same house…not good), then my wife’s dad moving in for a few months and some other stuff. It kind of felt like a war zone for a while :). Between jobs, I stayed home but I wasn’t on my own like you are (my hat goes off to you for that). When I went back to work, my wife stayed home with the kids for 4 years. She has been back for a few years but HATES her new boss and, for her sanity and mine, needs to quit or find something else. That is a separate story altogether.
I’m not sure what to think about the fasting thing. For building strength and muscle, the general approach has been to not miss a meal and over-eat. I don’t have a huge appetite so this has always been a challenge for me.
The main difference with the protocol compared to typical whey, as far as I can tell, is the very high absorption rate of the casein hydrosolate. The fasting promotes fat loss and there is a muscle-building rebound that you take advantage of by loading up on regular meal days.
I’m not sure what would happen if plain whey was used. Might be worth an experiment.
