I have been doing fingertip pullups for the past 3 weeks, not to work my grip but because I don’t have a pullup bar.
There is a beam in my basement that I can do pullups from using my fingertips to grip it. I can’t do a lot of reps, but it is better than nothing.
Anyway I did some deads after 3 weeks of fingertip pullups and was suprised to find that I could hold the bar easily with a pronated grip.
I was lifting weights that usually require me to use a mixed grip.
So if you want to improve your deadlift grip strength, try some fingertip pullups. It may help you like it helped me.

Huh. Now there is one I would not have thought of, but I will have to give these a shot. My weak point in my DL’s is definitely my grip giving out well before the rest of me. Thanks!

Another good alternative would be pull-ups with a towel. Helped me make some considerable gains in grip strength.
Fingertip pushups also help with grip stength. Do them regular, planche-style, one-arm, etc. to increase the load.

Michael,
Thanks for the tip. I will try this method also.
