Fine-Tuning the Machine & Tacking on the Vanity Plates

Do you like rutabagas? That’s not a pick up line, I swear. Nor a euphemism.

Just thought I’d check them out and find a way to prepare them. Just taking care of the little bro trying to make sure he doesn’t eat like complete shit.

Oh, and I will try cauliflower mash and get back to you; looks good.

Nice lifting, Veg - those squats are pretty awesome.

Hope the wrist is OK - I’ll add my recommendation for a Powerball to you as well. It really helped my carpal tunnel.[/quote]

I used to use a racquetball and roll it on the underside of my forearm. Is that what you mean, Cal?

Nope. http://www.powerballs.com/

Veggie, I can really see your lifts moving up over here! Both upper and lower body stuff. Bench and squat at the same time. That’s fantastic! Hey having a tweaked wrist can effect EVERYTHING. Mine seems to be back to normal, but I was babying that thing for awhile. In my case, I think I just picked up a DB wrong.

My DB pullovers are like the guy you posted, except I’m laying on the bench. No glute bridge deal going on either, but I did think of Bre skyhumpin’.

You’ve gone dark. Everything ok over here?

Yes. I’m fine. Just very busy. Training has been going well. I hope to get a chance to post it later tonight or tomorrow.

ahem.

missing ya.

me too → But i have no doubt you are still killing it with a Veggie Vengeance

Hey everybody! Life has been a whirlwind and I have been taking it in stride.

Work is CRAZY! We are down a staff member (remember the sickly receptionist- gone) and our practice has been selected to launch a program on a major social/goods/services advertising website.

I have been cooking up a storm due to the fact that both of my CSA share partners have been out of town for the last 2 weeks! We are talking serious veggie consumption, not to mention some creative preparations. And I am happy to report that there was “all you can eat in a week” kale as of last week. This is gonna be a helluva growing season!

For the time being, I have my training partner back. Not every day, but a few day a week. Training itself has been solid, but I have been battling with some right arm/elbow/wrist issues during the last few weeks which I know are directly related to my job. As a result, I have been making a conscious effort to use my left hand as much as possible. Also have been modifying my training as necessary. And I am considering using some wrist wraps for the first time ever. Thoughts?

Lastly, I have been feeling achy and sore and a little old… NO SURPRISE! Training hard and not getting any younger. In fact, I’m older. Today is my 32nd birthday.

A post of my training will follow. Nice to have a record of it here as opposed to on scraps of paper or as notes in my phone.

Thanks for missing me. I missed all of you too.

happy birthday. glad to hear how you are doing. i got some wrist wraps. they do seem to help. i worry about over-using them and having weak wrists, but they might give you some needed support for your training given how hard you work them.

Training… from two weeks ago. Sorry

Enough typing for now. I’ll come back later to recap last week and the beginning of this week.

Going to the office for a while and then I think my gran and I are going to dinner to celebrate my birthday.

Happy Birthday! No need to apologise about the late logs - it’s lovely to read how you’re getting on but the purpose of logs is to keep track of your progress rather than to amuse us! Have a great dinner with your gran.

Happy Birthday Veg

lol

happy birthday!

Happy Birthday!

I have one of those powerballs, they make a great fidget gadget.

Happy Birthday!! Hope things slow down to at least enjoy it. I celebrate my birthday for a week  Why not?

Happy Birthday Veggie!!

I second everyone else - come back when you can. Enjoy your b-day sugar!

And keep killing it, mama!

Happy Birthday!

As for wrist straps. I liked using them at times when soreness or plain old sprains got in the way when I was working with heavy poundages. For movements that required lighter weight, I went even lighter and didn’t use straps.

My biggest complaint, and you might experience this too, but my absolute biggest complaint about straps is that I innevitably lose one and have to buy another set.

EYAH!! Happy all you can eat Kale Birthday

Happy Berfday !!!
