Finding a Coach?

I want to learn the Olympic lifts, I have tried a bit on my own but I feel like it would be best to meet with a coach and learn in person. I’m in Chicago and I would like to know if anyone on this forum knows any coaches in the area or would know where/how to go find one?

Could probably start by looking at a couple of these: http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Weightlifting/Clubs-LWC/Find-a-club/Illinois.aspx

Looks to be a couple in Chicago. Can’t speak for the quality of instruction though, you’ll have to go down and figure that out for yourself.

Considering I have little to no experience with Olympic lifting how can I determine the quality of coaching (I would hate to spend a lot of money and time only to find out I was dealing with a shitty coach from the start).

Call and meet with them and ask a ton of questions. Things like “how do you teach the lifts”, “who have you coached to Nat’s, etc”, and the important question of fees.
