I recently bought the bundle and can’t wait to get started when I get settled in new school
I’ve thought about getting it a couple times, but never pulled the trigger on it. I’ll keep an eye on your log once you start running it, I’ve seen a bunch of people get great results from it. : )
I really enjoyed the following three:
Texas Method, 5/3/1 Building the Monolith, and Westside Conjugate.
WS Conjugate was the most “fun” but honestly probably the least practical thing I could have done. I wish I would have tried it sooner when I had better recovery and less going on in life.
Oh yeah, I honestly think I wanted to like vicariously be his friend, and that’s probably what drove me to even try so hard on that program. He’s just such like, just a swell guy. I actually bought a program from him a couple years back and he’s just as energetic and enjoyable through emails lol.
But you’re right, I ran that at a home gym. And while my current gym is very strongman/giant set friendly, it’s hotter than hell, and it just feels rude, as most people there are very focused and I don’t want to be the only guy burpee box long jump pullup-ing into squats taking up a quarter of my gym
I feel similarly about Alsruhe as you and @simo74: dude seems absolutely awesome and I’m happy to support him, but his programs are hard to pull off in real life. I also find remembering the circuits with complex moves takes significant mindshare, which is a turnoff for me
I loved Lyle McDonald’s General Bulking Routine (GBR). It is simple as all hell and can be done for years.
I made good progress on a bro split after that and used one for my only show, but more so for bringing up lagging bodyparts to a degree, which is what I think a bro split provides for natties who built a good amount of muscle with a more basic routine.
I once LARPed as a permabulking wannabe powerlifter and used the Westside Conjugate Method and liked it. I bought into the notion that one had to LARP as such before just being a hypertrophy bro or competitor.
I recommend the path of full body—> upper-lower (like GBR) or PPL —> bodypart split for fulfilling one’s potential in muscle size.
I.liked Chad’s Huge in a Hurry.
Really liking Alex Bromley’s Bullmastiff right now. Strength oriented with autoregulating amrap sets.
