ummm biggie smalls?
massive rap fan, in the last year i started a cd collection and bought probably around 250 cd’s
my tastes vary greatly from stuff like talib kweli to three six mafia,
favourite tracks are
roots ft erikah badu - you got me, what they do
ghostface killah - all that i got is you, never be the same again
jay z - lucky me, regrets, dead presidents, beach chair, party life
nas - street dreams, one love, half time, the message, cant forget about you
wu tang clan - can it be all so simple, careful(click, click), bring da ruckus
young joc - play your cards, hustlenomics
joel ortiz - keep on callin, 125 pt4
lupe fiasco - the cool, hip hop saved my life, dumb it down, intruder alert, fighters, superstar
raekwon - the hood, ice cream
rza - a day too god is a 1000 years, see the joy
z-ro - dedicated 2 u, T.H.U.G, happy feelings, let me live my life, look what you did to me, guerilla till i die, why, 2 many niggaz, i hate you bitch(perfect break up song)
trae - smile, the rain, song cry
lil troy - wanna be a baller
ice cube - today was a good day
theres plenty of other artists and songs i like, this is a very short list off the top of my head, if anyone wants any song recomendations or album recomendations or too upload some tracks just let me know, ill be checking this thread regulary
Alrite, lets keep things going, i love this thread, haha
jtg987, if you like the roots and erykah badu together, try ‘Shining Star’ featuring them and D’angelo if you haven’t heard it yet. little more on the r&b side maybe, but black thought is amazing on that song.
Here’s a few more:
Redman - Merry Jane (feat. snoop and nate dogg)
Imagine - dre, snoop dogg, d’angelo.
press play - snoop dogg (it’s off his new album, really love this song)
nas - book of rhymes/world is yours (classic!)/2nd childhood/the flyest
tupac- only god can judge me/picture me rollin’
Hieroglyphics - oakland blackouts/you never knew
Deltron - Time keeps on slipping
Dr. Dre - let me ride (really recommend this)
In terms of albums, i’ll go with the first rap album I heard from beginning to end (which also made me get into hip hop)-‘Be’ by Common. If you’re looking for reasons to love rap, can’t go wrong with this one.
You Say He’s Just a Friend - Biz Markie

stop trying so hard to ‘be hiphop’.
my name isnt off “backpack shit” its from Fabolous/DJ Clue and i replaced 718, with 781
What’s the difference between hip-hop and rap? I need to know this critical information in order to post here. I mean, the title says “favorite rap songs” so I don’t want to write a song that’s from the hip-hop genre.

A couple of white kids arguing over who’s more hip hop. Hilarious.
Tupac - Holla’ At Me
Numerous gym sessions have been fueled by that song.

Technically, Hip Hop is the culture. That’s the four elements; breakdancing, writing graffiti, DJing, and emceeing. And well, rapping is just the emceeing part. At the same time rapping is a vocal representation of the four elements of Hip Hop.
I’d also like to point out that rich boy is underrated.
