Fatgripz with I,Bodybuilder

Hey CT,
I was wondering if I could use the fat gripz on all workouts for the I,Bodybuilder Program?
Would using them for everything be too much?

My rule of thumb is: “Unless for the parts specifically devoted to increasing grip strength, do not use a thick bar/fat gripz if it makes you lift less weight on an exercise”.

The main movers will receive less stimulation. If you want to improve your grip, do grip-specific work 2-3 times per week (which can include some thick bar lifting/holds).

CT, didn’t you say that using the thick bar/fat grips for your pressing movements was significantly easier on your shoulders? If so, wouldn’t we still want to use the thick bar on those pushing movements since it tends to have a negligible affect on how much you can press?

Thanks,

Read what I wrote… you can use a fat gripéthick bar on any movement where using it doesn’t lead to a decrease in performance. From experience the thick bar makes pressing easier (or at least the same) so yeah you can ue the thick bar on these.
