Fat Guys with Abs

Is there a word or phrase that describes fat guys who have very powerful looking (but not defined) abdominal muscles?

If they still have abs, they can’t be THAT fat. That being said, there is a spot between 10 and 20% body fat where the added blubber still follows the shape of the rectus abdominus, making it look like big bulky mountains. I’d call such a guy chunky, but that’s just me.

You can find some seriously not lean PLers and Strongmen who have “semblance of abs” (to quote a silly term IMO) simply because the musculature of the area has thickened considerably from many years of heavy training just as any other area would. Too often people confuse hints or shadows of musculature in the midsection, or even the natural appearance of a vein with being of overall low bodyfat levels.

They’re called fullhousers and permabulkers. Some have “semblance of abs”, “vascularity in the arms”, and “separation in the quads”. And they all have “20% bodyfat”.

See, I don’t think it’s too bad either. But, the problem is, most guys won’t get nearly as big or strong as that guy before they just get fat as hell. So, they just end up chunky without the strength/muscle to back it up. Hell, pretty much like me.
