hey guys… thanks for all the concern. my internet got fried during a thunderstorm friday night. i’ve been “borrowing” my neighbors wireless sigal until it’s fixed. needless to say, the signal is weak and goes in and out. as for my injury, i attempted to pull sumo this past weekend and it was a no go. tonight i pulled conventional with mild discomfort. it was actually a good time to do some experimenting. i have a bad habit of letting my mind wonder when i’m getting ready for a pull. tonight i set up and dive bombed the bar. it worked really good. there’s only two problems- when you dive bomb you take the chance of grabbing the bar off center and not setting your grip. i had both happen on different sets but i can tell with some practice, i’ll pull some decent numbers this way with a conventional setup.

also… i’ve decided to drop some bodyfat. i’ve been watching my diet as well as adding in more hypertrophy training for the past two weeks. it feels great!!! i may even do a bodybuilding show in the future… but don’t get me wrong. i’m a powerlifter FIRST. i just wanna be a healthier one that’s not afraid to take his shirt off.

anyway… this is what i did tonight.

conventional deadlift- divebomb style.

635x1- this felt very light but i didn’t get my left hand set and it slipped out of my hand at lockout. i’ll be practicing this style and will use it at the World’s.

standing alternating dumbell curs- see i told you… i’m doing some bodybuilding training. haven’t done these in many moons. i was suprised at how light the 80’s felt. i guess this powerlifting stuff has made me stronger.

still strong as hell- I found doing speed work yesterday- that Its hard to line up the grip,

a little hypertrophy or fat loss is probably good- would you stay at the same weight class?

Absolutely awesome OH press, Meat. The DLs were as well, but I am desensitized from watching you pull 600+ all of the time…lol. Just a walk in the park…

nope…i’m really hoping that i’ll be able to replace some of the fat with new mass since i’m doing all the high rep crap. i think i caught a glimpse at a top ab this morning when the light hit it just right. but then it ran away and hid.

Hah, I have the lighting in my bathroom just right so that right now, in the morning, before eating anything, and after sweating a little bit, I have the faintest outline of my top two rows of abs. Of course, as soon as I step in the shower and my body sucks up that moisture they disappear, but it made me happy for a minute.

Dang. I’m impressed, you are going to have to change your log in name.

i pulled a hip flexor two weeks ago. tonight was a testing out night to see if it was just a minor pull or something more. luckily it was just a minor pull. i can still feel it a little so i shut it down early. next week i’ll bump the squat up to 635.
