Great work on the PRs! Not that i wasn’t impressed when you were moving your ‘injury weights’, but its always good to see someone hit new PRs, those are some massive numbers.
Also, i’m impressed that you did 2 of the most painful exercises possible in the same workout, in terms of bar position. especially if you’re hitting PRs in zerchers, now you know for sure that your pain tolerance is better than its ever been
by the way, I’ve never heard of anybody eating souls before. How many souls do you eat on days where you do painful workouts such as this? Can i make my own immitation souls by mixing BCAAs with some 100 proof bourbon?
thanks!!
i have a really high tolerance for pain. this has gotten me into trouble at times. if i wanted to i can actually tear a muscle by straining. many times i’ve felt muscles tearing as i’m straining. sometimes i can shut it down quick enough to limit the damage and other times i’ve done real damage. this is especially true on pin presses. there’s a fine line on those where i am putty everything i have into them and tearing a pec or front delt.
as pain goes, front squats and zerchers aren’t too bad.
i tend to stray away from too many souls. they tend to bloat me up pretty bad. it’s summer time and i need to fit into my two piece.
in a round about sort of way that reminds me of something that happened last night at the gym. we have plenty of douches that feel the need to lift their shirts to flex their hawt abz in the mirror. well, there’s this one skinny little douche that does it for all his scrawny little bodyparts. he was doing leg press last night next to us and he kept lifting his shorts to look at his miniquads. then he would lift his tshirt to check out the abzzzz. i finally couldn’t take it anymore. i walked up behind him when he wasn’t looking and lifted my shirt and started rubbing my hairy belly. he turned around and i just stared vacant into his eyes while still rubbing my belly. i did my best to druel a little as well. It seemed to work, he left.

That is classic! Was it more of a ‘get in my belly!’ rub, or a ‘get in there boy, nice and deep like’-whilst-touching-your-bellybutton-at-a-car-wash rub? either way, i’m sure it was terrifying.
I have just started using pin presses, and they are the best exercise i’ve ever done to add to my raw bench. I know in the max effort book they say that a lot of injuries happen whilst doing it, that’s twice ive heard it now. I’ll have to be careful…
When i was talking about pain, i was thinking more in terms of discomfort of the bar position. Good point though, i suppose the most painful exercise is the one where you end up hurt. After watching those videos i’m tempted to give zerchers another go. Might get a foam pad though haha.
