I really enjoy reading your log. Such a dedicated individual, I really admire that quality in a person. You sir take it a step farther and totally inspire others to do the same. Of everyone on this forum, and I love them all, you are the one I would so enjoy meeting in person. You make me what to start powerlifting, unfortunately I’m addicted to inline speed skating at the time. Stay super strong and lift really heavy things.
thanks. that’s a very nice thing to say.
i’m a teacher by trade and really love teaching and helping. I consider myself to have average genetics for powerlifting therefore i have to push myself to achieve my goals.
i think you should do whatever is your passion. this world would be a better place if more people could find something that they are passionate about. there would be a lot less miserable people.

wow. 600 grams of protein , that is allot of food

i’ve been getting just around a gram per pound of bodyweight, so that’s about 270-300 grams. i’ve added in three 100 gram protein shakes a day as well. so, it’s not really that much more.

ME bench- things are moving along very well. weight felt light…except for the pin presses. they took everything i had.
another really good one. i’ve upped my protein to approx. 600 grams a day. my recovery has been slipping a bit.
MM- What are you weighing in at these days?
i’m at my lightest that i’ve been in awhile. i weigh between 265-270 right now. the reason for that is i’ve been eating like a “normal” person lately. basically three meals with some fruits and nuts as snacks through the day. but it’s finally caught up with me though. i hit a wall sunday with my training. i’ve been feeling a bit beat up from not recovering. sunday everything felt heavy.
i immidiately left the gym and bought myself more protein powder. i make my best gains in strength and recover better when i’m getting at least 2 grams per pound of bodyweight each day. it’s really more like 2.5 grams per pound. i can already tell the difference after three days. yesterday everything felt light and i was able to really push myself.

Squats- the extra protein is already paying off. i feel like i can push myself so much harder and feel more recovered. tonight was the first night that i’ve take a moderate weight for a full squat. it felt a bit awkward on the first working set but the last two felt really good. i’ll add ten pounds every training session until i’m back into weight PR’s. I’m also going to be rotating front and back squats every other week instead of every two weeks. my arms are recovering from the low bar position after the one week. it also helps that i’m only doing singles for each set.
squats
135x6
225x4
315x4
405x4
495x2
585x1x3 +40lbs from last session’s box squat
zercher’s off pins
135x2
225x2
315x2
405x2
495x2x2 +40lbs from last session
awesome session. everything feels tight. my lower back has never felt this good. my back has always given me trouble walking out heavy weight as well as the initial decent on a squat. now it feels great. i definitly have to give all the credit to the heavy zerchers.
I havent bugged you for a while, but since were discussing whey protein, I have a question for you. my experience has been that whey protein gives one a serious case of the farts. I have tried to hold back my intake so that my family and coworkers dont have to live in constant fear of me crop dusting them into submission. Have you used or heard of anything that minimizes the whey farts?
