teddykgb, wow, you were right on with that day 3 or 4 deal. I’m sitting on the morning of day 4 and feel about a hundred times better than yesterday. The carb up for 24 sounds like a good idea, I’m going to need something to look forward to so I don’t give up on this…I’m already looking in the mirror saying “well, I guess I’m not THAT fat, I don’t need to do this”. Again, thanks for all the help and feel free to share any advice you want, I’ll gladly welcome it.
Question: Is everyone using only protein drink and EFS’s? I read that it’s not a problem
to use SOME real food (tuna, chicken, beef) if it fits the constraints of cals.
I want to do the Fat Fast diet. I don’t know how. I understand from searching for it on this site that I need to keep my calories at or below 1300 and they all need to come from flaxseed oil and protein shakes with low carbs. I need to take MD6 and a multivitamin rich in calcium and magnesium. Am I correct so far? Do I take the 5 tablspoons of flaxseed oil all at once in the morning, or spread it out over the course of the day? In addition, do I ever eat anything at all other than the oil and protein shakes? How long can I do this diet before I die from it because my body gets pissed off and quits working properly? Oh yeah, I also read I need to take some metimucil or something like that. Just let me know what I need to take and I’m all over it! I want to get started tomorrow provided I have all the info and the right stuff. Thanks guys!! bf.
The fat fast is nothing more than an SKD (standard ketogenic diet). It is not a new concept. Futhermore, living on powder and oil is a sure way to disintegrate your diet plans. Your body doesn’t care where the protein and fats come from, so mix it up a little! Have a solid meal, making sure that the calorie and macronutrient ratios are in check. I know that if I actually look forward to my meals, all is well. Don’t get me wrong, protein shakes are a godsend, but I believe they should supplement a diet, not BE the diet.
It is ok to have some no carb meals every once and a while as long as you do stay within the calorie limitations. I ocasionally have some tuna, and I am doing really well on the diet
Does it matter if I use 35 or 70 sprays of Androsol twice a day during fat fast? I mean, will 35 sprays twice a day preserve my muscle equally as well as 70 sprays twice a day? If i did the 70 twice a day am I just flushing money down the drain?
I’m wondering also, about how many of the andro/nando sprays to use. When I bought them at the place here in Ft Collins the guy seemed knowledgable but he said people have told him that the stack works best with 70 sprays of each 2X a day! Would this be best used for a growth cycle?
Thanks
Actually the Fat Fast is a modified Protein Sparing Modified Fast (PSMF). The main difference is that the Fat Fast incorporates flax oil. The PSMF uses strictly 150g of protein, for everybody regardless of weight, and from whole protein sources, mainly lean meat. The theory is that all the body needs to survive is a small amount of glucose, because it’s essential for the brain, essential proteins, and an alternate source of energy. All of these requirements are met with whole protein sources. The body will then feed off its fat stores for the alternate source of energy. The biggest problem faced by people on a PSMF is that half of what they lose is muscle. What IS new in this concept of dieting is how Brock added flax oil and increased the caloric content. This addresses the issue of muscle loss pretty well. Instead of eating 800 calories and losing too much muscle you will consume half of maintenance calories and prevent rapid shutdown of your metabolism. The diet is very simple but anything but easy. I think most don’t have the willpower to last a week let alone a month. Good luck to those of you on the diet and yes whole foods are allowed. Eggs, tuna, salmon, and a little cheese will not harm you; just don’t go over your target calories!
