Seated Row @ 154 lbs x 7-7-7-7-7 (should have been 5’s but was too light)

Barbell Shrugs @ 253 lbs x 10-10-10

EZ Curls @ 88 lbs x 5-5-5 *

Push Ups x 20-20-15

  • Was supposed to increase from 77 to 88 lbs, but actually used 99 lbs by mistake. My arithmetic has been really poor lately. I’m regularly mis-loading.

I’m going to start going heavier (5 x 5) on horizontal pull and horizontal push on the first upper body day of the week and heavier on vertical push and pull on a Friday.

Pleased with the push ups. 4 weeks ago I couldn’t even do one because of my shoulder.

FB, you are one entertaining fellow. Besides the laughs, I also enjoy when you use words like “knackered”. For some reason, I’m thinking that word should be used for perverted purposes, rather than something as mundane as expressing that you were tired as heck from squatting like a macheine -yeah, I’m strange that way.

How’s your dog doing btw? I didn’t comment previously, but that cracked me up when you said you tell her that you’re giving her pedigree stuff even though she’s a mutt. Does she hang out with you when you lift?

Farmer Brett

Im sorry that was so horrible- and yes its from my private collection,
gigs and gigs of it.

Im glad your such a good sport, I figured you have a great sense of humor
so maybe it would just be funny

great progress on the shoulder and nice pressing

I love to watch you squat.

Really coming out of your shell lately. Interesting.

dday - Glad you found it funny.[/quote]

For the record, I laughed at the caption not at your posing. You’re a thick dude and look beastly. Didn’t want you to think I was making fun.

Thats a good looking shouldeer day, well hell really its a good looking all over upper body day.

Brett, are you basing this program on anything in particular, or just kind of feeling it out?

PG - Do you not have the word knackered in the US then? It’s taken from knackers yard which is where they used to take dead horses to turn them into glue. Hence, “fit for the knackers yard” etc.

Took the dog for a blood test, we’ll get the results Friday. We also got some pills to try and stop her wetting the bed while she’s asleep, we’ve had to cut up some old sleeping bags to make 6 beds that we can wash and dry each day. Bit of a pain. The vet reckons the peeing is hormone related, so she’s on oestrogen tablets, but they don’t seem to be working.

Kevin & Joe - Thanks guys.

KP - It’s always taken me a while to get to know people in ‘real life’ too before I’m comfortable enough to be myself. I’m always quiet to start with and then I never shut up!

dday - No worries. I totally took it the right way. And even if you were laughing at my posing I wouldn’t have minded. It’s not something I’m worried about being good at.

MJ - Just making it up as I go along. Basic plan to keep adding weight each week until I can’t make 10 on the last set, then drop to 5 sets of 9, keep adding weight, drop to 8’s etc etc.

Deadlifts @ 291 lbs x 10-10-10-10-10

Leg Curls @ 75 lbs x 10-10-10-10-10

Pushdowns @ 93 lbs x 10-10-10

EZ Curls @ 88 lbs x 7-7-7

Enjoyed the deads, they felt pretty easy. Performed them as touch’n’go. When the weight gets heavier I will start resetting between reps. Too dangerous to do it with anything heavy I think.

Started using straps, getting too much of a forearm pump.

Did the leg curls, pushdowns and EZ curls as a ‘no rest’ circuit to save some time.

Some deads from tonight. Fancied a bit of Motown, sorry!

Show off…lol

great vids, esp. love the pose down

Totally envy the form on your lifts, if ever there was a how to deadlift video this would be it.

5x10 with perfect form - You da man!

Beautiful deadlifts!

Right, you’re “getting too much of a forearm pump”, while yours truly has killed himself for years with wrist curls and grippers and you name it and still has forearms like pool cues. :frowning:

you are getting Harry-like volume!

Once you get a farm in Portugal, how hard will it be to get animals, etc? Don’t know much about farming/ranching, and know even less about portugal

damn good form

Dam farmer those deads were smooth…

Beauteous, as always. Double overhand, eh? At what point do you switch to mixed? Looking . . . umm . . . svelte.

Bulldog, Up, dday, George - Thanks a lot people.

Cavalier - I think the best thing for forearms is basic gripping of the bar, not curling of the wrist. Heavy deads and heavy one arm rows for highish reps.

MJ - Volume like Harry is a great compliment. Now to go for weights like Harry! As for animals?, hopefully meet a nice helpful local to guide us. Otherwise learn to count in Portuguese and visit the livestock auctions.

Pete and German - Praise indeed coming from you two. Thanks.

Kp - Thanks. I only ever use a mixed grip for 1 rep max attempts. I know it’s probably irrational, but I can’t see how loads of reps and sets done like that wouldn’t develop imbalances. I know I could alternate, but it only feels ‘right’ for me one way.

Shoulder w/u

Band pull aparts and dislocates circuit.

Close Grip U/H Pulldowns @ 154 lbs x 5-5-5-5-5

Incline Barbell Bench Press @ 170.5 lbs x 10-10-10-10-10

Seated Row @ 126 lbs x 10-10-10-10-10

Standing DB Press @ 63.5 lb’ers x 5-5-5-5-5

Face Pulls @ 88 lbs x 10-10-10

Push Ups x 20-20-20

Really liking this routine and my shoulder just keeps feeling better and better. Still haven’t plucked up the courage to try any overhead pressing with a barbell or any snatching yet. I just don’t want to end up back at square one. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

Should have done hill sprints, but it was pissing down. Our driest spring on record has turned in to a complete ‘wash out’ of a summer so far!

Hill Sprints 35 yds x 12 (last 3 in the pouring fricking rain!)
