Mascherano - Thanks for stopping by. Glad I made you laugh. Most of my attempts at jokes backfire and I end up having to explain them. Or worse, they are completely glossed over and then I lie awake at night thinking “God, I hope they don’t think that I meant that literally, they must think I’m really weird!!”

You mean, a few months ago, when you suggested I do wall squats against the front wall windows of my gym, you were just kidding?
Good work. I really like high volume deads. I don’t think that that sets of 10 translates well to a 1RM (at least it doesn’t for me).
Everyone seems to be on a diet of some sort or another don’t they. You might have said it and I missed it but do you have a set goal in mind with this?
I agree with Todd. But I think you could probably stand to cut out all the grain based carbs. Fibrous green veggies are free carbs and you can eat as many of those as you want. The idea behind carb cycling is that you eat carbs as workout fuel. That means you only eat them before hand (pre-fueling) or afterwards (re-fueling). The best carbs are stuff like rice, potatoes, yams (can’t stand 'em, never eat 'em). And if you do post-workout drinks, that’s a good place too.
I also agree with Todd that hunger isn’t always a good indicator. I’m usually never hungry and tend to under-eat… unless I’m dieting in which case I always over-eat. Sigh.
As far as being ashamed to take off your shirt… with quads like yours yuou should maybe consider taking off your pants. Just sayin’.

lolz. i was trying to refrain from saying something like that…
ddot - Thanks for the feedback. I’ll stick with what I’m doing for 10 days or so and then maybe make some adjustments depending on progress.
Up - That’s one of the advantages of lifting at home. The mirror is all mine!!
Cav - No I was serious on that one. Glass would have less friction on your groin than the wall.
James - I don’t think going straight from 10 reps to singles on deads would work that well, but I think they’re a good starting point for a long cycle that drops reps over a period of months and they certainly improve your work capacity that’s for sure.
Kent - Thanks for that great simplification, that’s what I need really “dieting for dummies”.
K & Alexus - Ironically, I’m completely confident cavorting in public stripped from the waist down!! It’s just taking my shirt off I’m not happy with!
Joe - I’m trying hard to resist the bodybuilding urge, but it’s insidious. Only the other day I was having a shave in the morning and was daydreaming and before I knew it I looked down and I’d shaved my chest.
Bike ride - Up mountain and back - 6.5 miles - 35 minutes
I think this is my fastest time on my Hybrid and not far off my best on my racer.
P.M
Back Squats @ 275 lbs x 10-10-10-10-10
Leg Curls @ 70 lbs x 10-10-10-10-10
Cycled this morning because I had to take the dog to the vets this afternoon and I didn’t know when I’d be back. So planned to do upper body tonight because it takes less ‘psyching up’ for. But by the time I got back I’d changed my mind and did legs anyway. The squats were tough tonight, I don’t know how much the hard ride at lunchtime had to do with that.
I was hoping to work up to 308 for 5 sets of 10 on the squats, but that might be beyond me. Don’t know.
Too knackered afterwards to do arms, so I’ll stick them on the end tomorrow.

Brett man talk about time under fucking tension…275x5x10, wow, just pretty awesome…this volume and hypertrophy work suits you well my man. quads looking Hyooooge.
well, good on you for doing it. i’ve never felt comfortable bearing my midsection in public. maybe one day i’ll get serious about working to change that. you will abort this project if your booty starts to vanish, though, eh?
Cav - I’m trying my best, but I caved and bought a Union Jack thong today. Damn that subliminal advertising.
ddot - Thanks. I like being called an animal.
Strick - Thanks. Slightly sore in the adductors today, but nothing too bad.
Kev - What to say when another man sends you a pic of a man in a thong? Nah, I got nothing!
BN - Been living in Wales nearly 11 years, but I’m a proud Englishman.
Bulldog - Damn! Did you have to ‘quote’ it so it appears again? LOL
Matty - Ask my wife, that’s the greatest compliment you could ever give me, to say my legs look big. Chest, back, arms?, not really bothered, but legs?.
Alexus - Yeah, I’ll stop the diet if my booty diminishes. I’m all about the booty! (pretty sure I’ve never written that before).
Joe - The most worrying thing is that Kevin didn’t get that off the internet, it’s from his ‘private collection’.
MJ - Portugal is favourite right now. Farmland is cheap there. It’s hard to find large parcels of land in Greece because it is split between the descendants when someone dies, so it all gets divided into smaller plots. Wouldn’t move to Spain, they have some strange old laws where if you have a certain amount of land the ‘government’ can steal half your land to ‘supposedly’ build cheap housing for local workers, but it’s being abused by unscrupulous developers who are stealing land to build expensive Villas on to sell for profit.
