Now those are difficult.

And are you wearing a wife beater?

What’s a wife beater?

Your shirt. Slang term is a “wife beater.”

Yeah, I’ve never really gotten much outta box squats. Although I think they’re tremendous for people who struggle with depth and the concept of sitting back to squat.

It’s a vest over a bluey grey T-shirt which happens to be the same colour as my skin at the moment! Roll on the summer.

I think I just tried the box squats because I’m always reading so much about how great they are, but when I paused on the box I found I was in a different position driving up than when I am at the bottom of my “regular” squat. So probably not much use.

Brett, it comes from TV shows like, ‘Cops’, where the domestic disturbance call always ends up with the guy dragged out for hitting his wife is wearing a t-shirt with the sleeves cut off. Like what Larry the Cable Guy wears all the time, if you know who that is over there on that side of the ocean.

How funny. I was watching your vid in a very sunny area and couldn’t see the screen well. This all goes back to that post about abs and vision. I gotta start working my abs! Pretty soon, I’ll think people are squatting naked.

Sounds like a bitch.

I’m only just getting back into biking so I’m currently just going to the top of the mountain and back. I have done all the way over and back. That ride is 10.2 miles with 1505 feet of elevation (my best time is 53 mins), but I still can’t compete with 2000ft+, that’s a whole different level (excuse the pun) of steep.

Have you done any rides like that since or are you planning any?

Or was once enough? LOL[/quote]

I haven’t done any that extreme but I get out and road bike around the neighborhood and can easily get over 1000ft of elevation in a ride. The mtn biking I do now is much more up and down and around, still an outstanding physical workout.

I wont, I just wont, I’ll resist the temptation.

But you didn’t resist did you? You’ve just posted that comment. Resisting would have meant not posting.

I’d like to think if my team had just finished FOUR, I repeat FOUR places lower, just narrowly avoiding the wooden spoon, I would have the humility not to start “rubbing it in”.

I’m having a real hard time figuring out who the bully is in this fight. I know it can’t be bluebrasil, aka Champion Defender of the expert known as Bunny Bench…

(just kidding of course!)

But I seriously am interested in the subtleties and nuances (if there are any!) of this “dispute” from a cultural perspective.

What sport are we talking about here?!??!?

Surely it’s competitive powerlifting?

Hahah!

Thanks for the laugh, little lady.

oh theres no bully here. the sport is Rugby Union and I was just fulfilling the role of small minded Scot for a bit there. England lost to Ireland yesterday. Scotland won against Italy, but even so Scotland arent that good, hence came 2nd last in the competition.
Even though England lost yesterday they still won the competition.

a lot of Scots will support anyone who are playing any sport against England. Its very petty and shows the Scots in a bad light.

personally I subscribe to Renton from Trainspottings philosophy

"I hate being Scottish. We're the lowest of the fucking low, the scum of the earth, the most wretched, servile, miserable, pathetic trash that was ever shat into civilization. Some people hate the English, but I don't. They're just wankers. We, on the other hand, are colonized by wankers. We can't even pick a decent culture to be colonized by. We are ruled by effete arseholes. It's a shite state of affairs and all the fresh air in the world will not make any fucking difference".

not that FarmerBrett is any of those things, he seems like a decent bloke.

The whole Scottish verses the English thing is a particular bugbear of mine, which is why I bit so hard. My wife’s son’s wife’s family (did you understand that?) are all Scottish Nationalists. Most of them live in England though. How you can hate the English so much and live in England I don’t know. So every family get together I inevitably have to put up with some drunken old man, wearing the obligatory kilt, shove their beer belly in my face whilst banging on about how “they”, kicked “my” arse at Bannockburn. While, because of social constraints and not wanting to upset my wife I have to bite my tongue, smile mildmannerdly, take it all on the chin and not retaliate. Now I know my memory is not what it was but, I’m pretty sure that “I” had nothing to do with it.

I think in the year 2011 using a battle that happened 700 bloody years ago as justification for hating your neighbours is pretty pathetic really.

It’s nice to hear that you are above all that BB. Maybe there is hope for the future.

yup that must be hard to bare, and it is all a load of bollocks.

I get all that from family but in reverse.

I’ll let you into a secret, I have two Scots parents, have lived here since the age of one, but was born in Sussex, as my old man went down to do National Service and stayed for a while. So to many Scots I am English. Oh the stick I took at school.

Pity I’m not talented enough to represent either country at any sport.

Over here, we’ve got folks in the south U.S. who think we’re still fighting the Civil War.

FB and BB, that is actually quite interesting, thanks for the education, and for sharing your stories.

And BB, I’m a fan of well-done rants, on any subject, and that one from Trainspotting was excellent.
