We call it “Ebony-net”.

Trust me…it is way cooler than cable.
Something tells me it would be a bad idea to google search “Ebony-Net”.
About as bad as “Japanese urine sex black cocks”.

Dude, we learned it from them.

For realz.

They haven’t shown you the “little black book”.

You just didn’t hear about Pocahontas’ sisters. They all liked black guys better and the real mysteries were transferred between the cultures…which is why their kids were called “Big running dick”, “Dances with Hoodrats”, “Liqua store”, and “Gucci sunglasses”.

Good thing you used to live with 5 black guys otherwise this photo would make you a racist.

Rome was predated by the ancient Egyptians (Africans) and at the time of ancient Rome and ancient Egypt many white cultures, like what were in England and Northern Europe, were basically cave men. They still would be had they not come into contact with cultures who were based in the Mediterranean, Africa and Middle East.

I know, I know.

Purple Kool-aid once saved this great nation…but you will never hear about it.

Why is it even culturally still accepted for someone to relate skin color directly to a negative act?
Professor X wrote:

Because the law says to?
Professor X wrote:

I do agree with you about the law should not see color, gender, sexual orientation, or religion but that is not the case. I think some peoples point here is, that if there are hate crime laws then they should be enforced equally and had the shoe been on the other foot and a white man made these comments to a black man before him and his friends assaulted the man and his family it would be considered a hate crime.

I don’t know that it is. But you will notice a somewhat silent push back against a “PC” ideal that has gone too far.

You have 4 camps of people as far as I can figure

 1. Racists
 2. Demographic slaves and stereotypes (This people don’t always have ill intensions, so while similar to racists I separate the two)
 3. People so irked by PC bullshit they sound like racists with their pushback
 4. Those of us that are ready to move past this nonsense.

I would say, you’d do yourself a lot of favors to make quick judgments based on clothing & vernacular than you would skin color. If someone, white, Asian or black is talking like Young Jeezy and dressed like Thug Life, I’d be on your toes. (Environment matters, but not every dumbass trying to bring NWA life style to the suburbs is an innocent.)

Obviously the way the story completely played out, deadly force was more than likely justified.
I think Baubers original post was meant to say that if the people from the story had a CW that things would have been drastically different had he pulled it.
The scenario would never has escalated the way it did and would not have needed deadly force.
That is the way I understood what he wrote but maybe I read it incorrectly.
Exactly, DE-escalating the situation immediately is preferable and really the prudent thing to do.

Culture and laws are two different things.

Harassment based on those things should be avoided, and everyone should be seen as equal under the law. However, profiling isn’t always harassment. The black man rushing towards the subway in a suit probably didn’t just rob the corner store. The 8 year old Latina girl with a Mini Mouse doll probably doesn’t have a bomb strapped to her chest in line with TSA…

I think what X is getting at is socially, not criminally.

I think that there is a lot of truth to this. We were actually discussing this at work not to long ago. If someone is dressed like a thug, even if they aren’t, it isn’t racist to think they are a thug. That is the image they wished to project with their style. If I wore a pink tank top, skinny jeans and guy liner I really shouldn’t be surprised if someone thought I was gay.

Just like I am assuming Prof X dresses to convey the level of success that he has achieved which alleviates a lot of the people looking at him thinking he might steal their car.

I actually wear cut off shirts and tanks most of the time out of work so most people assume I kill people for a living.

That is why I took offense to what Conservative dog wrote…as if I should be seen as “a potential threat”…and not a man with an education…because i am black.

Really?

The law is saying that my skin color makes me more prone to crime?

Black = crime?

Man, the worst criminally minded people I’ve ever known were white. And all the good criminals (as in good at what they do) dressed like total squares, I’m talking complete fucking dorks, and drove shit box cars with normal radios.

In 2012, skin color doesn’t matter. I know a could Asian cats that hold very little regard for human life, and 3 out of the top 5 resumes we got at the last career fair were black kids.

Being a total asshole isn’t connected with skin color.

Eh, its 2013… Fuck it. Point stands
