Extreme Weight Gain in Short Time?

I managed to diet down to 190 over a few weeks (and lost some strength, but that’s another story), and over the span of a single week of weakness (other issues), my weight shot up to 195 for just no reason at all. I still work hard about my diet and I still work out, but I simply went back up to my “natural” weight in just a few days.

Maybe I’m eating SOMETHING that causes a metabolic collapse. UFC fighters beef up 15-20 pounds after the weigh in so they come in heavy for the fight, so it is possible to gain a lot of weight very, very quickly. I must be doing something wrong to gain so much weight so easily.

I don’t mind having to work to lose weight, but when I finally do succeed, I don’t want to regain dozens of pounds in a single month span. What do you guys do to keep it off?

the difference between being hydrated vs dehydrated can be 5 pounds easily. Also, are you weighing yourself under the same conditions? ie. before vs after eating? time of day? etc…

I assume you are pursuing aesthetic goals, so how do you look? did you lose definition ?

My weight will change like crazy. I will go to go to bed, wake up a couple of times to take a piss, and be 7 pounds lighter in the morning. 5 pounds is nothing in a week.

Weight can fluctuate a lot due to hydration levels and all, let the mirror be the guide to whether your making progress sometimes. I seriously doubt that it is solid weight gain (e.g. fat)

weight can fluctuate a ton based on hydration coupled with glycogen levels. Take in alot of carbs and drink alot of water you will puff up like a marshmallow.

Probably water weight, as the others have said.

Also make sure your still eating breakfast and atleast 5 over meals a day to keep your metabolism running

And dont weigh yourself after a dump
