Here’s the thing. Except for beginners with very low level of strength and neurological capacity, traditional lifting exercises will not do much to improve throwing velocity.
In fact, a lot of times, focusing a lot on traditional lifting exercises can make you throw slower.
I’m not saying that you can’t improve throwing speed through training. You can. But “normal” lifting exercises won’t really help.
It requires a fairly complex strategy of throws with various loads (overspeed and overload throws), isometrics in key positions, plyometric exercises, sequencing drills, and absorption drills.
These are all too complex to explain in a post.
I suggest looking at my friend, and former client, Steffan Jones. He is a top strength coach with fast bowlers (cricket hard throwers) and has a lot of good exercise on his instagram page
