HELP me figure out a repclacement exercise for dips. THE program I am on calls for 1 set of dips/2 Incline Bench Press on day 1&3 and 2 sets of dips/1 incline Bench Press on day 2.
WHAT are the other exercises I could do to substitute for dips?
THANK you

If I absolutely HAD to do dips and couldn’t, I would do chair/bench dips with a few plates on my lap.
What kind of school? If it is a high school, can’t you go to the shop class teacher and get them to make a dip station for the weight room? Make them plans, include the price of a commercial, and enlist the support from the football coach.
If you don’t have a dip station, the tips the others gave are perfect. I made a dip station by suspending two chains from a chin up bar.
However, if there is another reason you can’t/won’t do dips, Chad Waterbury has suggested decline bench as a suitable replacement for dips. Key word, suitable, since dips are much better.
what are you trying to accomplish with your program? what are you trying to accomplish with dips?
if you’re looking for strength and size increases in your delts, pecs, tris, and a few other muscles, you can simply do any variety of upper bpdy press.
i.e. flat bench, incline bench, close grip bench, seated military press, standing military press, push press, etc…

Thanks for tips so far[/quote]
well if you’re just looking for alternative exercises instead of dips for hypertrophy for upper body pressing muscles <primarily the delts, dris, and pecs>, you can do just fine without dips.
nobody will disagree that dips can give you great bang for your buck, because if done properly, you can really activate a lot of muscle during that exercise and get a lot of shit done… but obviously that isn’t an option for you at this time.
but if dips bother you, like i said earlier, try other upper body presses that don’t aggravate your injured shoulder. there are SO many alternatives.
also, if you’ve got the discipline, do the right research and find some effective exercises to rehabilitate your shoulder. rest alone is always enough.
Decline DB Press. Hits the same muscle groups at similar angles. Although remember, you don’t have to follow any program blindly. Adapt it to what you have accessible.

Depends whether your doing dips as a chest exercise(leaning forward) or a tri exercise(keeping your body as perpendicular to the ground as poss). Good alternatives…Decline presses(for the chest) and skullcrushers or close grip bench presses for the tris
