When I was back in my early 30s I was living in Oregon and did sprints in the snow with a friend. The ground quickly became muddy and the snow sloshy which made the sprinting harder and a lot of fun. I only busted my ass a few times in all out slide or uncontrollable, flying slip.

tmill, foam, mob,

drive to HS

warm up walk, butt kicks, high knee skips,

Sprints Ladder Day 30,40,50,60,70,80,70,60,50,40,30meters

ankles were not cooperating today very stiff and sore…

Peace

Tmill, foam, mob

drive to HS for Parachute training…no not out of a plane ( I have done that…once) sprints with a chute

1/4 mile walk, knee ups, high skips ( good thing its dark out) , butt kicks etc

6x50 no chute, gradual speed build up to around 90% max with 100 yard walk off between reps

6x50 with chute…with 120 yard walk offs, slow was been re-defined…like a hungover tree sloth slow! its work…the good part is for the chute to fully inflate you got to be moving so it definitely keeps the cattle prod on my ass…

excellent news…it only rained for the 1st 10 minutes!! but it was 39 degrees with 10-12 mph wind…

Boy its been cold and wet around here lately. Freezing rain in the forecast I believe. I’ve gotten so slow the parachute would pass me.

foam
mob

DL 10x135 5x225 5x275 3x3x315 2x5x225
HS pullldown 20x70, 16x90, 14x110
HS pullover 15x70, 15x90, 10x110
cable pulldowns 25x50, 25x60
hammie curl 25x35, 20x45, 20x55 18x45

this was all kind of one big giant set, only break was to change plates and sip water… parachute killed my legs yesterday absolutely zero hip snap or umpf on DL…

Peace

The chute work must have been fun. Do those kind of sprints really make you faster?

[quote]gorillavanilla wrote:

GV they were fun. AT my age and ability, no, doing chute sprints probably isn’t going to help. I have read articles and studies that indicate .1 sec reduction of time for 100 meter when trained over a 10 week period…I have also read…articles that say they screw up your mechanics and cause injury…its like most training implements whether it be chains, belts, fat bars, or vests there is always two schools of thought. It was more work though, my quads were burnt the next day…faster no…sexy yes!! hahaha

Chute runs - sounds as much fun as sled pulling. Gotta do wonders for your conditioning.

[quote]cavalier wrote:

they’re not nearly as bad as sled work Cav… adds about 30lb of resistance. definitely helps the heart and lungs

spread 8 yards of mulch Sat after sprints and jumps and gorilla walk…then went out to dinner with some friends, stayed too long, had too much fun, Sunday was a slow morning. Sunday afternoon my daughters lacrosse team won their conference tourney so they play in the NCAA tourney Friday…luckily the game is at Boston College, about an hour away. I can make it and not spend 1000 doing it!! thank you Lord!!

Tmill, Foam, stretchy

DL 2x5x135, 5x185, 5x225, 5x255, 4x295, 3x1x315 just keepin the groove while sprints take focus
Glute bridge 10x135, 10x155, 7x185, 8x185 all with 3 sec hold per rep…If I had an ass it would be pumped
hammie curl 20x35, 15x45,55, 12x60
straight arm pulldown 20x40, 15x40
overhead plate hold with 45 bumper 2x30sec drop to mid point of hammer curl and hold 30 sec

t mill .63mi 11min
foam, mob

drive to HS its torture time1 walk .5mi warmup stuff blah blah

6X100 these were 60 up to about 80-85% max…
5x50 with the chute
1x70 with chute…oh brother that will spit and vinegar right out of ya…the last 20 seemed like a marathon

Peace
