Damn CT you sound a lot different than I expected. Then again you normally speak french now that I think about it. That reminds me, my french girl (Genevieve) is coming to visit tomorrow…OK totally off topic :)
Someone mentioned this in a different thread, but I had always imagined CT sounding like Vin Diesel. Now, whenever I read CT’s posts, I always hear a French accent.

Funny thing is that when I was shopping in NY with my wife a random woman in a shop asked the clerk to come ask me if I was Vin Diesel. Even though she said no, the woman came asked me to take a picture with her.

That’s alright, I heard Vin Diesel gets asked all the time if he is Christian Thibaudeau.
When you do your seated shoulder press, what kind of bench do you use? Do you use the adjustable flat/incline bench or do you use the set 90 degree bench that doesnt support all the way up to you head? Only reason i ask is because i feel like i’m not really blasting my shoulders when i sit on the set 90 bench.

Why don’t you use a lift when benching?
You have no business benching a bar than you can unrack yourself. Even Dave Tate himself said it. The only time you should use a lift off is when you are using a bench shirt. Since I don’t use a bench shirt, then I don’t use a lift off.

I ask because I read an article on using a spotter (I believe it was from Eric Cressey) to reduce the risk of injury (to the shoulder). It was something to the effect that you ruin your starting position when you don’t use a spotter. I am trying to perfect my form and not get injured so any comments are appreciated.

depending on the J hooks of your bench you can get away without getting a lift off if you unrack the bar like Dave Tate described in the bench video that was up not long ago…
