Do I have to have a belt to pull sumo? It seems like all the people in the vids do.
I only strap mine on at 225-235lbs. I don’t use it to warm up from 135 to 205. I keep it for when it gets heavy. It’s good to work the core without the belt too. I would say add it for your last set or 2 last sets. What’s your deadlift day look like?
NL, you think your belt helps your lift? or keeps you from getting injured? Curious to know.
I gave up all straps and belts about 10 years ago for the better, I felt like they were in my way…and I just recently pulled 500 with nothing but chalk and bare feet, a personal best. That said…I don’t compete.
I agree going beltless and strapless is great (I don’t do straps). In my case I don’t use it as tightly as most people. It reminds me to cue big breath for stability. Def not wearing it for injury prevention. I’ve only been using it for a year but my deads have gone from 185-305. Now the belt alone won’t do that but perhaps it has a placebo effect: beast mode ON lol.

Can someone fill me in on the Robi SAMA drama? She wasn’t a she? But there were sooooo many pictures.

We dont have sports in school in norway. I have competed in the some internation tournements, nordic championships and was the norwegian champion when i got injured, but i was never at an olympic caliber. I started late, i started when i was 14-15 and no one even though i could win nationals.

I can agree on that. I don’t do much outside work anymore, but used carry metalpipes and plumbing equipment outside for a year so i can relate to it :)
So now you would wrestle just for the competition? Or you going to try MMA?

I dont work outside either, but I do own a house and have honey do list as long as my leg.
Well, i’m gonna do both MMA and wrestling, but both as a hobby. Maybe go for an amateur fight just for the competition. If there is competition involved i get motivatied to all hell and nothing can stop my training, diet etc. If there is no competition im pretty lackluster :stuck_out_tongue:

Pics of you in your B-Day suit, PM’d to ImHUNGry for analysis…he’s a freak like that.

I already knew that, he gets monthly full frontal shots from me.
They’re PROGRESS pics, guys!

How can I properly critique your physiques if I can’t view 110% of it??

Which reminds me… Edgy, please use more oil on you lower body, please. It’ll accentuate your lines more.
