Thanks everybody!
I think I’m set. I’m registered, and I have the singlet snap lent me. I know where the place is because I went there last year.
I looked up the rules and I have to identify and try on a thin t-shirt. It looks like v-necks are not acceptable. I have some tie-die socks I like, It doesn’t look like the socks have to reach your knees, just cover the shins.
I think those chinese Bruce Lee type shoes are similar enough to deadlifting slippers I should be ok. Maybe I should just buy a pair of Chucks to be sure?
Snap says the weigh-in is at eight and I should bring food. My body feels good, I don’t have any injuries I can detect. I’ll probably do a light workout with all the lifts tomorrow and then knock off for the week.

Yes, have fun and yes, Snap = PL Goddess/Coach ! You both are in a win-win situtation !![/quote]
Another little tough 40-something. How did it take me so long to see you over here? Good luck and I’m jealous of your lifting coven. Colorado must be the women’s lifting capital?

a lot of guys too. I think it’s something in the mountain water.
Well I did it!
Can I just say that kpsnap and soldog are awesome and generous people?
I checked in and snap helped me write down my openers: 50, 47.5, and 70 kilos. I went in for the gear check and weigh in by the fabulous pmpm. Got barked at by the guy at gear check because I did not know to hand him my card. When snap told him it was my first time, he growled at me. We saw brute briefly but she had to go to work (Hi Brute!)
I was super nervous for the squat and unbelievably did not go first. There was a 14 year old girl opening with the same weight as me, and she went first. I made my first attempt. Second attempt, I’m not sure I made depth but I got all white lights, so ok. Third attempt had some right knee cave but it was fine. Ended up at 50 kilos (110 lbs) and it was all good.
I managed not to screw up bench even though I’m not used to having someone unrack for me. The second attempt at 42.5 was reeeeeelly slow but I got it and the third one was a no-go at 45 kilos (99 lb) Total: 92.5
Deadlift now, and this time I was first. This made me really nervous so I darted out to the platform like a baby fawn for my opener at 70 kg but my foot shifted a little as I lost my balance on the lift. One red light but it was still good. That threw me so I only went to 75 and 80. Meet total: 177.5 kg
I won my division by the awesome performance of being the only one in it.
Now that I look at it, I must be remembering wrong because that only adds up to 172.5. Me so tired.
I’m going to go have a big steak and a glass of wine. I am so excited to do this again and surpass all those numbers! Soldog has video of all three of us.
arachne, I am SO PROUD OF YOU!! That was a great first meet, and I’m glad you had a great time. I couldn’t have done better than you did. Congratulations!
