Like I said, he definitely pulls more than he squats. Dude deadlifted 800 when he was 19 or so.
Awesome to see the right side angle. From the front it looked like the bar might have dropped a little at the sticking point, but the side angle cleared that up.
This kid is a fucking monster. His brother almost has him by Wilks though. Impressive fucking family, no doubt.[/quote]
Where did you see the side angle? It definitely looks like the drops a tiny bit, although it could be a bit of an illusion; it’s very possible that it just stopped moving for a bit, and when the eye expects constant movement, a stop can look like it goes down. No matter what it’s a very impressive lift.
Also, it looks like his bench attempts got even better as they went on. The first one looked like the press call came really fucking quick, but the last two were most definitely a legit call.

To me it looks like it does go down just a tiny bit. I went as close to frame by frame as I could.
Of course, I’m also strict as fuck when it comes to judging lifts. Lifters would hate me if I were an actual judge. Not to mention that it doesn’t fucking matter what I think, because I’m some guy on the internet who can barely deadlift his best bench.

We are told in the rules meeting prior that bringing the bar down slow and under control will get a quicker press command. Bring it down fast and you’ll get held at the bottom.
