Ephedrine Side Effects

I love the fat loss efects of the epedrine/caffeine combination, and have used it to good effect intermittently for over 5 years. I have found in the last couple of months that the side effects of anxiety/irritability have increased greatly - I am using exactly the same make of ephedrine/caffeine as I always have so it seems that my body is turning against me. I have also tried Doug’s suggestion of taking saw palmetto with it but that didn’t seem to have much effect. My question is therefore what alternative products are there for fat loss which will not cause these problems ? And how effective are they in comparison to ephedrine/cafeine?

See the “Hot Stuff” article by Cy Willson at T-mag. You may be able to build your own based on the ingredeints that he gave good reviews to, then stack it with T2-PRO. That’s what I’m thinking of doing until Biotest reformulates MD6.

Something else that I’ve noticed, James…take the same total DAILY dose, but take smaller INDIVIDUAL doses, spread out over the day.

An example…I did MUCH better on MD-6 taken as 2 tabs, three times per day, as opposed to 3 tabs, twice a day.

6 grams of epa/dha from fish oil (that’s about 16 Twinlab softgels a day or 2 1/4 teaspoons of Searslab lime tasting fish oil). What’s great about taking them is that I can usually eat more (maitenane calories) as long as I aggressively cut out the saturated fats. Read Eric Noreen’s excellent article on this site for more info. There have been also been posts by others who’ve taken 5 grams of CLA, which seems to work the same way. I never use E-C stacks anymore. My body takes it fine for awhile but I then I’ll get that rapid heartbeat problem.

I haven’t personally read the study, but someone told me that a norephedrine study showed it to be more effective for fat loss than regular ephedrine. It is also supposed to be easier on the nervous system for most people.

use LESS. simple as that

"use LESS. simple as that " ??? People, James has asked for alternatives to EC for fat loss and none of you have been very helpful except recommending to take the same 'ol stuff in different dosages. But he just told you he’s been taking it for five years and now he’s “found in the last couple of months that the side effects of anxiety/irritability have increased greatly” and you’re all recommending to continue taking EC? When I began suffering rapid heart beats (two cycles), I did take “less” and the problem persisted. Then I took zero and the problem still persisted for two more weeks. If your body takes time to recover after taking zero, taking “less” isn’t going to help whatsoever. I’ve mention fish pills, CLA, can anyone else answer this guy’s question?

If you can get your hands on the original T-2 formula, that stuff rocks (go to netrition.com, they have it for insanely cheap). T-2 is a great fat burner without the ephedrine side effects. Also, what everyone else said, Fish oil, CLA, and may I also say that Powerdrive is an excellent alternative to stimulants? Try a serving before your workout instead of fat burners. I’ll bet you will like it better than stimulants.

Why don’t you read the thread again, Mr. CarWreck. Both TEK and I mentioned potential supplements other than Ephedrine prior to your rudely inaccurate post. Norephedrine is an entirely different substance from Ephedrine causing less stimulatory effects on the central nervous system than Ephedrine.
