I don’t see why this is such a big deal. The fact that it’s ephedra dosen’t matter, the FTC goes after companies all the time for making bogus claims, especially supplement companies, regardless of what the product contains or is purported to contain. For example, they recently shut down SeaSilver for claiming their worthless product cured all sorts of diseases. Once again, this has nothing to do with the pending legislation.
Argh. Yeah, a couple deaths warrents all this. How about someone sue a big drug company because they took too much asprin and had negative side effects?
I have an idea. Why don’t we all stop buying any kind of medicine, unless it’s required by an emergency situation? All you have to do is eat right and keep up the exercise and you shouldn’t need the medicine. And please, stop relying on some sort of pain killer to get through workouts. That’s just wrong on so many levels (addressed to no one in particular). And don’t take something the second you get a headache or sore throat. Actually, you shouldn’t need to worry about this if you’re eating right.
What do you all think about this? I’ve stopped buying/using any kind of medicine. Besides, it would probably help your gains! I know taking ibuprohen on a daily basis can lead to leaky gut syndrome…definitely not good for gains.
So how 'bout it? Let’s boycott medicine!
Take care,
Neil
“FTC officials estimated that Health Laboratories sold about $35 million worth of weight-loss and other supplements, while Pharmacal sold about $9 million.”
“Manufacturers of the supplement have insisted their product is safe when taken as directed, but some consumer groups are lobbying to have ephedra products banned completely.”
Aha. There’s the reason right there. Poor drug companies can’t handle someone making more money than them with a product?
I know, let’s lobby to get their product made illegal so we get all the profits!
Frickin drug companies.
