Have you heard Da Drought 3 by Lil Wayne? My favorite mixtape ever (arguably the best tape of all time). I’ve been listening to that for the past week nonstop haha

Of course.

One of the greater mixtapes he’s made.

Tha Carter 1,2&3 are also good.

Yea, those are great. I can’t decide which of those are my favorite. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Tha Carter V…

That’d be amazing.

“I am not a human being” is also really good.

Showcases more of his poetic style that’s in his rapping.

The instrumental to the song I posted, is actually live. It’s rather new (live cams out somewhere in April last year), so whatever album this song may eventually be on will sound great.

Wayne is really talented in his delivery. Everything from his bars to his flow, and literary elements. He’s good at using entendres, and metaphors too.

True. He is a master of metaphor. Listening to his stuff just never gets old. The songs he has rapped in lately have not been as good as his older stuff, so hopefully he can redeem himself with an insane Carter V. I would love it if he went out with a bang.

Me too. But if he doesn’t that’s okay. He’s done more than enough in the studio and out.

He’s built and sponsored community stuff in his home town, skate parks, groups, etc.

Reminds me of how everyone was wanting Linkin Park to make some better than Hybrid Theory. Personally I don’t think anything beats Hybrid Theory. It’s freaking Hybrid Theory. That album is amazing. I dare anyone to try and make something like that. Which they can’t. So everyone just hush lol.

Not to mention Linkin Park won’t ever be the same without Chester.

Yea I agree. Wayne has changed the game forever, and he’s released so much stuff. I guess we can just be happy that we already have so much awesome stuff to listen to.

Pretty dope dude. Catchy song.

@planetcybertron Your bio says that you are in college right now. What are you studying?

I’m stuck between psych and optometry.

I’m about half a year or two years away from my bachelors but whatever I choose it’ll be a major in biology. Or bio mechanics.

Cool! So med school? MCAT prep?

No just prerequisites right now.

If I opt for optometry school, I don’t really have to worry about MCAT stuff.

There’s the main campus where I go, and then there’s an entire north wing of the optometry school. You just need to have a decent GPA or MCAT scores. Either or. Since it’s an Optometry school, you’ve pretty much given the notion how specific of a degree you’re going for, so often times you can be exempt from the MCAT altogether. If you choose and meet requirements That program is four years, then after that you opt for certification, or a fellowship/speacialization program if you want. It’s a bit more costly. But the four year program can be paid for using federal aid. However if you do meet the exception for certain tests, it’s a good idea to guard your GPA fiercely because they have no problem dismissing you from the program and school in general. I moved my GPA up from a 2.7 to a 3.7(ish? Possibly 3.6, haven’t checked) So, They do watch how hard you work, and they reward you for that quite a bit. If I keep it up, I can apply for Alumni stuff as well towards the later parts when I graduate. At least that’s what one of the letters in the mail said last year lol.

That’s how Houston does it. Not the only way they do it, but one of the ways. I’m thinking about going this route more and more, because the Optometry school really caters and gives a damn about kids like me who don’t come from wealthy families.

For psychiatry I would eventually need to take care of MCAT stuff. However that can be done later depending on how many course credits I rack up. If I go over 90 I can be considered for post baccalaureate degrees. I’d still need my MCAT scores, but depending on the school and their requirements, I can take it later. In Texas there’s a crap ton of different ways you can do things. For psych, you can also just stay in school for insanely long amount of time and complete a PhD degree, and be granted exemption from the MCAT. Which you can still opt to take the MCAT. If you don’t do so hot on the MCAT scores, they will still likely accept you due to how much coursework you’ve been taking. But the big banger in Houston Univserities is your GPA. So long as it stays afloat, you can just slowly climb up to higher level studies. After that you move onto residency. It’s entirely up to whatever school you’re going to what they look at when they consider you. It differs from city to city and state to state. Some require scores, some look at overall GPA, some both, etc.

Whole different ball game if you’re going to out of state programs and you’ve come from Texas.

I’m kind of opting for optometry though. Not because I don’t think I can’t handle psychiatry. I believe I’m well cut out for it, even more so as I mature a great deal, but I just don’t have the resources. Federal aid only does so much, espeacially med schools and residency, and I’ve squeezed out almost every penny the government will give me. I still get the same amount when I was in community college, however I have more expenses and tuition. And another 10 years of schooling will probably put me into a bunch of debt that I refuse to deal with concerning psych. With Optometry I will have just enough to keep making it semester after semester. And most likely have no debt. I’m fine struggling, so long as I can walk into class and have everything I need.

Sucks. But I’m just thankful I’ve even made it this far.

It’s not like that everywhere in Texas though. As soon as you get out of the Houston area, requirements usually differ.

Right now I’m just trying to take it one semester at a time, because I get overwhelmed thinking about all this stuff.

Sorry for the ramble lol.

Haha no worries. I’m impressed about you raising the GPA from 2.7 to 3.7. That’s great. If you can do that, I’ve got no doubts about you succeeding at optometry (or whatever else you decide to do). I totally get vacillating between possible life paths. It’s like the Silvia Plath thing where she is looking at all her possible lives like fruits on a tree. The fruits all look so good so that she can’t choose, and so they start withering and dying. It’s like a Buridan’s ass situation, except there are an infinite number of conceivable paths you can envision rather than just two. A pretty good movie that exemplifies this concept is Mr. Nobody. Only movie that’s ever made me cry.

I’ll have to look into that movie.

And the GPA thing wasn’t that hard. When transferring they still keep record of your GPA. So that 2.7 will be there, but they do take into consideration if you’ve worked to fix it. Upon transferring, your GPA will kind of reset itself to the first few grades you get within a semester, or two, so I just hit all the hard science courses first and made a decent A grade.

That Glory instrumental is the best Lil Wayne song I have ever heard…shots fired

Take it to the gym scale and weigh it. Maybe you are just that much stronger?

And Belated Congrats on that Dead PR!!!

Thanks man!!!

And I’ll do my best to weigh it. They have those old sprint scales that you move the little tracker across the bar. So we will see lol

5 mile walk

This Texas weather is unforgiving.

It was 86 degrees already, and the humidity percentage was at a nasty 60% already.

Didn’t really enjoy the walk. Drank as much water as I could, probably needed more. The humidity felt heavy, and the heat was just making me sweat everywhere. Ick.

Found one of my old drawings I had on another forum album. This was back when I could do bomb drawings with just a pen and some Kleenex.

I miss doing my artwork.

Quality supplies are expensive beyond all reasoning, but I’d definitely like to accumulate more supplies.

All I have now is one empty stretched canvass, two or three brushes, nothing to paint with, and calligraphy ink, but no quill. Lol

Lost all my acrylics, watercolors, stretch paper, shaping tools, glosses, and powders during our last move. Meh.
