End of Cut

Ok, so I’m down to what I consider a rock bottom weight of 198 (I’m 6’1"). I am at the end of a long, slow cut down from a cubby football weight of 285. I thought I would celebrate a bit by submitting a few pics.

Don’t give me crap for editting out my face. I work in a profession that I don’t feel comfortable having pictures like this of me online. Get over it.

and more…

Looking good my man. And good call with posting leg picks first. Thick back, nice quads. The only suggestion might be to work on back width, but it’s hard to tell because you didn’t include a lat spread or anything.

Great physique, pretty close to my ideal physique (for myself… no homo)

Only advice I can give is learn how to pose better, on the front double bi you are not flexing your biceps correctly, your fists should be curled towards your face, not the camera. On FDB you need to spreak your lats also.

On back double bi, you need to spread as well, don’t flex your traps and bring your arms closer into your body… flare those lats man!

Also, what are your lift numbers?

You’re right, I know nothing about posing technique. I should have known better about my palms facing foward though. Thanks for the advice.

Lifting numbers are a bit tricky. I’ve been in cutting mode for so long that I haven’t had a true max out in forever. My bests guesses are:

Bench: 315
Squat: 420
Deadlift: 450
Overhead Squat: 280 (I’m an old Olympic lifter)

Anything else?

6’-1" & 198…that’s where i’m heading, but going from 180…not coming down.

good work man!

Thanks, it’s been a long road from 285. I’ll bump up to about 245 or so over the winter and focus on some strength goals and then hopefully be about this body fat % but at 220 or something next year. By the way, I know this question gets on some people’s nerves, but anyone want to take an educated estimate at my body fat %? I don’t really have any means to test it and I think it’s hard to guess on yourself.

My guess would be about 7-8% for BF, if that helps.

Nice work dude you are looking big and ripped.

man you are schredded… congrats and great job! i guess diong squats four days a week in the morning and having having the chicken breast lunch club in the dorms ended out being worth it.

Not bad but you do need some definite work on your lats and traps.

Congrats… and a suggestion: you should focus on pecs and lat width

I consider my lats my weak point. I do deadlifts and pull ups like crazy, but they still seem to be lagging. It’s hard to improve too much on a fat burning style workout though in my opinion.

Thanks man. It’d be great to still have time to do two workouts a day.

yes they are your weak point  and yes sadly it’s hard to improve when cutting.

IMHO you should focus, noe, in a long clean bulk cycle. I have built my lat with heavy chin up, long pull-up session and DL plus bent over row. Try to “change” the rules, ie if you are doing high volume switch for a while to high intensity and so on. Hope to be helpfull.

Agreed but hey, you look better than I do. Good job man

I’m now cycling into a bulk. I’ll be trying to bring up my lat development. The plan is to bulk up to 245 or so and hit some strength goals. After I’ve cut back down (probably to 225 or so) I’ll post some new pictures including a lat spread.

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks - I guess I don’t feel like pecs are as big of an issue as lats, but I do plenty of chest work anyways.
