Happy Easter!

Iron day 16/30 - hamstrings - 15 minute/1 mile cardio warmup.
Steps are creeping up, so that’s good. They need to creep more, obviously, but it’s a start.
Baby…steps.
A decent hike today will help the steps, though we were slogging uphill over rocks through waterways - it’s our spring melt in the mountains still.
Anyway, tomorrow sprints before work. I also read back to last year, when weight was going down nicely for me, and noticed I was playing with kettlebell swings mixed in with the treadmill.

Got up 15 minutes earlier this morning for treadmill time, so had 40 minutes to play around. Warmed up for 5 minutes, then did some 30 second fast sprints, then spent another 5 minutes enjoying zone 2, then was going to do some slower EMOM sprints, but wound up going 2 minutes, then took a minute off to think, then did a half mile run, then was going to relax and cool down for a nice, long bit, but at 38 minutes I was like a quarter mile short of 3 miles, so I ran more.
So 3 miles in 41:47. Not sure whether I’m going to continue to chase this particular rabbit or not - I guess we’ll find out. Meanwhile I arrived at work today with around 7K steps logged for the morning.
I could feel my sciatica twinging occasionally, which scares me, but other than that it felt great.
Sometimes when I’d get on a good string of tunes, I set out to go for 30 min. on the airdyne but end up at 60 or so. It’s easy to do that with small increments or time/distance.
I look at my Airdyne and it mocks me.
Only because it loves you!

Iron day 17/30 - upper body - with 15 minute/1 mile cardio warmup and 10 minute treadmill cooldown. Awesome! Feeling really good.
Oh, also, I got a light (8 lb) weighted vest to wear around the house when I’m cooking/cleaning. For no particular reason. Typically I wear a pack when we’re outside, though the dog will be here soon, so street walks will hopefully be a thing (Buttons was scared of the road because there were too many people-things visible).
So excited!!!
Oh boy!

Treadmill, 2.10 miles in 30 minutes. Mostly just a pleasant walk with 3 X 3 min @ 5.6 mph with 1 min between, just for kicks.
We were supposed to camp this weekend, which had me feeling a bit desperate given the chips and other atrocities that occur there, but we canceled it this morning due to weather (steady hard rain Sat, turning to some snow overnight into Sunday, lol wtf). So that’s out of the way. Maybe we’ll have company, but that’s easier to control.
If no company, it will be a weekend of perfect compliance until Sunday, as my birthday is Monday, so the children will gather.
I pick the dog up 2 hours away on Saturday. OMG, I can’t wait. It’s too bad it’ll be raining.
I’m so excited for you! What an excellent experience that will be.
Can’t wait for pics!!!
Yes! That is so great for both of you!
Unless he’s a jerk!
I don’t anticipate that he will be, though, because he has a very good boy face.
(Although I’m a little worried that this is like online dating and the pics are from years ago, because this does not look like an 8-year-old. So how can I even be sure he’s a good boy??)
I think he does. He has just a tiny bit of gray on his muzzle. He looks like a VERY good boy to me too! It’s going to fine. He is going to be wonderful, I just know it.
I thought that was you in the pic above and you had him already!
So now I’m still super excited for you again. He looks like a great pooch. Definitely a good for your happy demeanor and activities type doggy.
If I saw him at a party or large gathering, we’d be best buds.
Thank you - that’s what I see, too!
No, we’re definitely only just now moving into short sleeves. That’s a Texas person. I was thinking it’s hot here today working out (windows all open) and it’s 61°. But more importantly…the driver…do you think she just has a tiny head? Or is the dog a big blockhead? Because not only have I blown past husband’s “I’m not ready for a dog,” but I also blew right by his “under 60 lbs, like - a medium dog.” :-/ Because I feel I know best, and also love this dog, who happens to be listed at 70. I think it’s going to play out just like Buttons did, but of course I can’t be sure. We’ll find out tomorrow or the next day.
I was up in the night feeling all exited. Today is going to take a million years, waiting for tomorrow to come so I can go get him.
