Full body weights - nothing feels injured at the moment, which is a treat. Edit: yikes, I did NOT do a full body workout. Arms, shoulders, chest. That’s what I did.

Short hike with dog, maybe a mile or so.

June 15

Weights lower body. Felt fantastic - it’s past time to split my workouts so I can give more. I’m excited about it.

Then 40 minutes on the TM with 10 minutes of that being sprints and the rest of it a happy fast walk.

Nothing hurts today and it’s sunny and cool. Dog seems fully recovered and we’re off to a dance recital and then ice cream cake party.

I’m pretty proud of the step count - we’ve had a heat wave here and we’re ill-equipped to deal with it, both in terms of a/c and acclimation - so I feel my trips around the work parking lots were above-and-beyond.

I’m concerned that my calories are as low as they are and my weight is holding steady. I should be able to maintain at 2K at my current activity level. However, we’ve got the kids here this weekend and go on vacation next Friday, so everything is going to be screwy for a couple of weeks. Ice cream cones and summer drinks. I guess I’ll mindfuck my caloric injustices after things return to normal.

Quick full body weights again - no time for more and we have a house full of family coming this afternoon. 30 minutes TM LISS.

If you’ve been keeping a sustained deficit for so long, a period of increased calories can actually be pretty beneficial in jacking up the metabolicalic rate again and getting that BMR set to a little higher level.

Up a pound after homemade pizza night, pancakes at noon and snacks for lunch, bbq (relatively healthy), eggs and home fries and bacon, and ice cream and mudslides and chips and dip and…etc. Fun was had, workouts were not.

Today and tomorrow I have work trainings early. I went to bed at 8:15 last night, but just could not make myself get up early. We’ll see about tomorrow. I have normal work on Wednesday, then start vacation on Thursday.

Calling it all a deload and refeed.

Amazing how family, Lord have mercy on them, can suck us out of the better eating behaviors we begin to build. Or have built. Last time I was in Palm Springs, “Come on, just one date shake. One date shake won’t hurt.”

Haha, sadly, I was the host!

I think it’s important to do family food without imposing my diet on them, and also I want to be able to do my time with them fully. Plus I like the food! So the few times a year we’re all together, I’m just IN. Vacation next week, same thing. I’ll eat well for the most part because it’s the coast, so seafood, but my husband’s experience of our trip won’t be about accommodating my dietary needs, it’ll be fun and sunshine and lobstah and sex and yummy, decadent drinks.

And then back to the grind with the however-many-pounds to lose all over again afterward.

OMG, you guys, I’m having a neurotic meltdown. It’s a regular workday today after two days of wonkiness because of trainings, and I’m up early, but am freaking out over what to do because I leave for Bar Harbor on Friday. A super quick full body plus TM sprints? Just settle in for LISS and do a leisurely full body tomorrow, when my time off starts? Split it and be too sore to ride my bike around Acadia?

I don’t need answers, just offering that the neuroses is upon me. I hate this feeling - the dark underbelly of the fitness freak thing. When feeling good and motivated turns into indecision and anxiety.

Update: I’ve had some coffee and have been reading around and have gotten myself settled. Today will be sprints and KB’s, tomorrow a full body workout, Friday LISS before the car ride.

Happy to hear that resolution was found. I know you weren’t looking for answers, but I was going to offer up something I gave to @TrainForPain a while back: assign each outcome a number, roll a die, and let it decide. Using all my Dungeons and Dragons powers for good!
