EliteFTS & MuscleMilk

If MuscleMilk is so dangerous, why is EFS still using it and promoting it as a good supplement?

Two things:

  1. You should know by now that Cytosport removed Glycocyamine from MuscleMilk a long time ago, although there may be some residual containers out there which still have it in there. So even IF certain companies DID believe it to be dangerous at one time (which I don’t think EFS ever did) they could recommend it now without much cause for alarm.

  2. Even before Glycocyamine was removed, many people still recommended its use due to either not knowing about the potential dangers, or refusing to acknowledge the potential dangers in light of the taste of MuscleMilk. Also, some still don’t believe that Glycocyamine was that much of a threat anyways.

As a result, you are gonna see places which have recommended the product in the past most likely continue to recommend it as a good tasting source of high quality protein as well as being high in calories.

Not every website is T-Nation, nor does every website or person agree with what T-Nation espouses, and everyone has their own opinion.

With all that said, I think MuscleMilk is overpriced suboptimal nutrition at best, and total crap at worst. Add heavy whipping cream and macadamia nut oil and/or olive oil to Metabolic Drive and you have a better tasting, higher-quality, better P+F compliant protein shake.

Muscle Milk pulled the ingredient(s) in question.

It still tastes like ass, if you ask me.

I think Muscle Milk tastes great. However, I stopped using it because of its insane amount of fat.

Yes, because they totally made up all of the studies referenced at the end of Dave’s article. Good freakin’ golly, people.

But it doesn’t matter. The ingredient is gone, but the bad taste remains.

it’s not even about whether or not it’s a bad supplement. for what it’s intended to do (replace meals/bedtime shake), it does a good job. personally, I’ve switched to just basic micellar casein from ON, and aside from the fact that it tastes like shit and doesn’t stir well (had to buy a blender), I’m pleased

They aren’t as concerned with seeing their abs over at Elitefts.

I thought Muscle Milk tasted great, and it’s a lot simpler if you just want to mix and drink without taking the time to consider the details of what you take in. I prefer to micro manage, so I use Low Carb Metabolic Drive, and choose the fats and or carbs I’m going to mix in myself.

I don’t mean to knock elitefts, I love that site, but their goals don’t always match mine.
