Mini Muscle Milk Drinks

Was at Target & saw the above protein drink, BUT, looked at the greds to see what the hell is in it. Below the greds it says in small print that it’s made with milk & soy products. I’m avoiding soy, so should I avoid these or the little bit of soy that they contain be ok?

Not that Target is a great place to buy quality supplements, but exactly what kind of soy is in Muscle Milk? Consuming or avoiding it depends on your goals, really. If you want protein, any protein, go for it.

I’ve heard they taste like monkey ass.

Forget the minimal amount of soy, I’d worry more about having to slug back Crap-in-a-Can.

You kidding me? The premade ones taste awesome. Can’t go wrong with Cookies n Cream, and the chocolate is good.

as far as the soy, I’m sure it’s so negligible that it shouldn’t be a concern unless you’re allergic to soy.

Really?

I had heard they were awful.

I’ll have to pick a few up next time I’m out.

I’ve heard different things about different flavors… I think they’ve always said that chocolate is good.

i’ve heard muscle milk is good, but i haven’t had one yet

as far as soy, its not going to hurt you, just dont base all your protein off of it

Ok, cool. Thanks for all the input. And they do taste great btw. They come in a pack of 4 for the price of 7 bucks.

Ive had Muscle Milk Choclate Milk flavor in the actual tub. Absolutely delicious.
The other day me and my friend each tryed a pre made one. I got banana cream, he got mocha joe, both of were extremely impressed. He doesn’t even work out, just a regular guy, and now he wants to go buy a tub just to have…

Anyway that says muscle milk is bad tasting just got really unlucky, everyone i’ve tryed beats any protein product I’ve ever had as far as taste is concerned.

The vanilla taste great too.

The pre-packaged ones are decent, but I would avoid the ones in the tub. See the Barr article on Dangerous Creatine found here to see what I mean re: creatine products containing glycocyamine as Muscle Milk does: http://www.T-Nation.com/findArticle.do?article=295naked2

And in terms of taste, I guess that’s personal preference, but given the boatload of fat in that stuff (18g in a serving to 32g of protein), I would certainly hope it might taste half-decent.

I just realized that this thread was talking about ready-to-drink products. Y’all would get your money’s worth just buying the tub instead. The premade drinks has denatured proteins due to pasteurization.
