That he probably isn’t.

You made the claim that someone my size is “average”. I think you are seeing things because I do NOT see many people at all , and damn sure not on this board, who have backs or anything else as big as mine to claim it is “average”.

I am simply responding to the incredibly ridiculous things you have written here lately.

Apparently, you think it is AVERAGE for someone to have a back that size?
it’s funny when people talk about powerlifters and how much muscle mass they must have because they have a bench of X lbs or squat of Y lbs

doesn’t mean shit

there are small guys on this forum who put up huge weights

dunno why they are being equated
Apparently you and X don’t understand some basic physiology or just haven’t followed powerlifting much.

YES, strength can be improved without a corresponding size gain. However, there is a limit to this.

With that being the case, NO ONE is squatting 1000 pounds or benching in the low 700s without a ton of muscle mass regardless of how efficient they are. PLEASE, show me small guys who are putting up those numbers.
yeah, but you shouldn’t compare BBers and PLers and say the PL must have more LBM because he lifts X lbs

Again, please show me where I did that.

Quote exact post please.

Edit: I think I know what you’re referring to.

In some cases the comparison is logical.

Back to original theme of thread.

Eric Spoto has 19" forearms

Paul Dillet

Damn Paul was one huge dude. I roughly recall his contest stats, but any guesses at to that ‘softer’ look he’s got in that shot? Do you recall his height?

He doesn’t post much at all

Sorry, it was sarcasm.

As in, “It’s time at the gym, not on the Web, that makes you grow.”

Meant no disrespect to him.
I know it was. I know you wouldn’t do that.

Right here:

You compared his musculature directly to his bench press.

If that isn’t what you meant, it would still be hard to say you didn’t imply it.

love to see him hit at least 10%… It really would silence the haters.
Who exactly is “hating”?
Then what would you call it? Your whole argument is basically, you are too fat to claim “not fat” status at a relative “250lbs” or so.

You are doing that for what reason?

Please explain…because it sure looks like nothing but hating from here.

Simple: I don’t hate you, don’t hate what you’ve done with your body, and don’t hate how your body looks.

Why skip the first response where you said what you write you didn’t say?

Well of course it’s implied. Granted strength isn’t linearly related to size, but there is indeed a relationship. One can become stronger without becoming bigger, but am increase in muscle size leads to increase in strength.

And although one can become more efficient, it comes to an end eventually. Hence why it takes HUGE muscles to bench 700 and squat 1000. There are no slender people doing that.

Regarding: “you don’t know their drug regimen”. Now I might be wrong because I’m not deeply steeped in the powerlifting culture, but I have met experienced powerlifters, some of whom have been friends with and trained with the ones depicted here and drug use was discussed and some people are open with talk of their own drug use. That’s all I’ll say.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’ve been wrong at times, and much of what we discuss here is based on judgment, speculation, and assumptions and respective conclusions. Although a statement can be wrong, I don’t see what’s wrong with coming to one’s own logical conclusions based on a combination of what he’s been taught, heard, and observed over and over and over again.

Lol at hating. Simple - he thinks you’re fat. He doesn’t believe you have anywhere near the body composition of guys he’s posted - and no matter how much you scream and yell, no matter how much you INSIST Brick see it your way, he doesn’t. Nor do a lot of other people.

Posting pictures, absolutely INSISTING you are what YOU say, and everyone else is nuts or hating if they don’t agree with you = MASSIVE INSECURITY.

Unreal - post after post, page after page, thread after thread - all DEMANDING that everyone see you as you see yourself. Good luck with that…

Wait, I thought you were against limits regarding numbers?
What limit did I impose? In the past I have said I think most people with the ability to build arms naturally over 18" probably have good genetics for bodybuilding whether they use steroids later or not.

That isn’t setting a limit at all that no one can cross. It is saying that those who do achieve more will likely reach higher goals…which is basic common sense.

But nice try.

If you can’t build arms over 16" naturally, you probably want to hold off on the Mr. Olympia prep.
