Effects of Alcohol

the new “scam” that bars are doing when you order a water is to give you that goddamn VOSS stuff… so instead of going out with your friends and not dropping an arm and a leg on booze because you may be the DD or whatever, the bar charges roughly EIGHT bucks for a 16 ounce bottle of water… they can go suck it!

yeah im not (if i do try it) doing it to be cool or fit in because i could really care less about that crap, and ive got tons of friends and they dont mind or anything that i dont. Ive been through that whole peer-preessure crap but its never gotten to me. if i do decide to drink, its just from well me wanting just to try it…and if i do im not going to every weekend you know.

Cool.

Mike, sorry for tossing it back at you. I’m not someone who places sheer size above all athleticism and sport. I was trying to give it back as good as I got. No worries. Take it easy.

There are those of us that choose not to get drunk at all because we view our health as more important than a few hours of losing control of our behavior.

I’ve never understood why so many poeple feel they have to drink to have fun. I have more fun without drinking.

Chris Freakin’ King! My old Arch-Nemesis! Check this out…I completely agree with you! WTF?![/quote]

I also do not drink, Not to say that I never did though. I choose to get my kicks by jumping out of planes and fighting forest fires. This type of work keeps me in shape. I hope other people can find a better way to stay in shape and keep the health in check.

Thank you all for your replies. I didn’t read any of them until 3 nights after i made my original post however. Luckily i came to the same conclusions that most of you did: live a little, and don’t drink to excess.

I didn’t want to go on thinking “what if”, ya know? I definitely didn’t drink because of peer-pressure but rather for personal experience and I feel good about that. Now I know what its like, and honestly its nothing that amazing. I feel much more alive setting a new PR in the gym or on the Track or on the football field or wrestling mat or doing well in the Classroom etc.

So as far as health is concerned, I believe that drinking a few times a year and letting go isn’t go to hurt, might even relieve some stress on occasion. And i’m doing everything right the other 360 days of the year.

Cheers,
