A while ago, Charles Staley was asking for EDT results. I promised I’d post mine when I was done with the four week EDT arms specialization plan. To save space, I’ll wait until this message is posted and then reply to it with my results.
I performed the EDT arms program during the four weeks between my summer and fall lacrosse seasons. Previously, I’d done bis and tris on different days - bis 5 sets of 10 BB curls, and tris a mix of dips, overhead presses, close grip benches and pushdowns. I did the plan as outlined, except my exercise selection was slightly different and I had no postworkout Cryotherapy, as I often work out over lunch and I can’t really sit at my desk doing Cryotherapy every afternoon. I gained about 1/2 inch on each arm - well worth it for a guy whose arms have been the same size for almost a year. I upped the weight once, after I beat all my rep goals by 20% in week 3. I really liked the time limits, they made intense workouts doable over a lunch hour. I’d like to do another week to beat my new heavier weight rep totals, but with lax starting, there ain’t no way. I really liked EDT and will do it again for arms and other body parts in my next hypertrophy phase. Any questions, feel free to ask. And thanks for posting EDT.
Rocket, great to hear you did so well! Do me a big favor and send me your full name and city, and I’ll use your testimonial in return for a free copy of the book. Mail to staley@integratedsportsolutions.com.
Thanks
Charles, I’m not posting to get a free book, but to say that the EDT arms program worked well for me as well. I did 5 weeks on the arms specialization without using any of the cryotherapy (time/work constraints). I am pleased with the results. I had 17 1/4" “cold” measurements on each arm before the program. After 5 weeks my “cold” measurements went to 17 7/8" each arm. A gain of 5/8". I was happy, because I have long arms (I am 72" tall, with 74" arm-span) size usually comes slow for me. As soon as my work schedule settles down, I am going to do it again and stack the program with mag 10 to see if I can do even better. Skeptics of EDT should give it at least 4 whole-hearted weeks. EDT does work. -Scott
Scott, send me your full name and address, I’ll send you a book? charles@integratedsportsolutions.com
Well you’re taking testimonials, I figure I may as well give you mine. I’m 17 and have been lifting since I was 15, after my newbie gains I pretty much stalled for 2 years. Then I tried EDT, I just did the EDT phase 1 outlined in T-mag with slightly above maintenance calories. I went from 157 at 5’11 to 162 and I’m noticeably leaner. My favorite aspect of this program is how regimented yet simple it is. In the past two years I’ve gotten bogged down in training percentages of 1 rep maxes and periodization and it just seemed to get in the way of results. I’m going to start phase 2 after I take a week off, to avoid overtraining, I’m getting kind of weird and obsessive about protecting my gains. Phil
Charles,
I’m happy to see that you posted a full body EDT program in last week’s T-Mag. I know that EDT is an excellent/intense program, but would it be reasonable to add like a Wed training session while on Mag-10? Or is the 4 day split intense enough?
JayNick, although you COULD add a 5th session, your curiosity/desire to do so illustrates a fundamental flaw in human thinking: the idea that more is better. If you’re doing EDT with sufficient intensity, 4 sessions is more than enough. By the way you guys, I’m still looking for good EDT testimonials ? by “good” I mean containing specific gains in specific time frames, with your full name and city. A free book’s in the deal for any I use. Thanks…
To Charles Staley: I just completed my 6 week mesocycle of the EDT Arm Specialization plan. I realise that the article recommended only 4 weeks, but after 4 weeks my arms were still growing like crazy so I kept going! At the end of 4 weeks, my upper arm measurements had increased from 16 inches to about 16 1/2 inches. After 6 weeks they are now close to 17 inches! Although my arm measurements aren’t huge compared with most bodybuilders, the 3/4 inch or so that I gained has a huge visual difference. My arms now look much bigger than before - my gym buddies have seen my results and they have already started on their EDT mesocycle! Just a note of advice to anyone who does this training, make sure you get enough Vitamin C like Charles recommends. Also the post workout ice massage works like a charm for decreasing some of the DOMS you will get in your arms from EDT!
reop, e-mail me your name and city, I’d like to usde your testimonial. mail to: charles@integratedsportsolutions.com
Thanks
i don’t have any EDT results. not yet anyway. but as soon as i finish posting this, i’m gonna search this web site and study up on it. if it works this good for this many people, i’m gonna try it. i feel like my arms are lacking to the rest of my body and i’d like to try it for that.
Specific results in a specific time frame? OK. Just out of curiosity I decided to deviate from my normal routine one day and do a 10 minute session of EDT for my arms - this was after I did my normal routine which consists of a lot of compound work. I supersetted decline tricep extensions with hammer curls. 3 days later my arms were at least 1/8 of an inch bigger… this is the result of one session. I don’t think this is worth a free book, but I had to post this because I was just so damn impressed.
ok, i’ve done some readin’, studyin’ cuttin’ and pastin’… this sounds like it’s up my alley. high intensity with high volume in a relatively short time. but, i don’t fully understand the set/rep/rest/“superset” schemes in the 15 minute time frame. can someone please elaborate for me, or give me examples ?? (arm training specifically)
KB, please e-mail this, along with your full name and city to charles@integratedsportsolutions.com? I’ll send you a free book
Thanks
Charles, I have used EDT in the past with very good results but, alas, I did not take before and after measurements. However, I have a question for you. Could you please indicate how you would modify your original EDT workout and the arms specialization workout to be appropriate for someone who has several decades of lifting experience but is over 50 years old? Thank you.
Ive been using EDT for my back and chest for 6 weeks now. Ive done 12 chest/back workouts in those 6 weeks and my chest measurement is up 1.5 inches. There used to be a spot towards the bottom of my peck where it looked like somebody just took a knife and cut a right angle out of the muscle and it just didnt look right. Now my pecks are so full you can hardly even notice it anymore. I have also lost 2 pounds of fat and the only thing I did differently from befor was EDT.
I’ve recently finished EDT. I did the two cycles and it was very effective. Previously I did HST and seemed to lose some size particularly on my arms. They did go down to about 17.5". After EDT they are back up to 18". My thighs are the biggest they’ve ever been at 29" and my chest is up to 48" - a slight improvement on what it was before. I’m currently doing Positions of Flexion for about six weeks and will then return to EDT. May I also say the Coach Staley is very helpful. I had a couple of questions regarding the program which I sent to the coach’s general email address and he replied personally within hours with advice and encouragement - Thanks again Coach…

Hey Charles how about an update on your Best Quarter clients? Would love to know how that’s going. Great I would imagine. I think that will provide more motivation and book sales(nudge, nudge). Nothing wrong will a little self-promotion eh?

Thanks for the interest in the coaching group? we’re really having fantastic results, really interesting conference calls, great exchanges of information. We’re also having our first quarterly seminar on September 21. There may be some group members who visit the forum, so maybe some of them will share their experiences
