Right now I am still in the making the gym a habit stage so taking time away would be too easy for me. When you mean time away do you mean not lifting at all? If so you could do a 5/3/1 style deload (where you lift 40%/50%/60% of your 90% for 5 reps) that way you can still go to the gym while giving the muscles a rest.

Is the viking bigger now, after his rest? 0_0
yeah, bigger. Feels like it anyways.

and, I don’t de-load. I’m old school. When I take time away from the gym, it is ALL away. this lights me up for another program, and lets my joints heal from the last program.

It’s worked for me for years.
I guess when it’s a habit, you can get away with leaving for a week.
When I grow up I wan to be just like Edgy. : )

What do vikings do to keep themselves occupied when they aren’t in the gym?

Time off from the gym has that affect on the body.
Although it’s hard to imagine that you can get any bigger <3

Hi Charlie…not much, rape, pillage, plunder…that about covers it.

drinking and carousing also, but that goes without saying…

I bought the book, but never went through with it. there’s sound principles in there and I agree with it, but it kinda locks you in for a year or so, and I like to change up my program from time to time to keep from being bored.

Mebbe I’m a control freak?

oh well…

to-nite…Shlders…wish me luck~

It doesn’t lock you up for a year, only as long as you allow it, same as any other routine.

Kill your shoulders. Like, seriously destroy them to where you can’t lift your arms tomorrow! Then…SQUAT!

squats on Thursday, Son.

promise.

I’m the same with programs…they scare me.

But I still keep the compounds the same, somewhat, so I can keep track of progress. Other than that, it’s whatever. I do keep a log and like a nerd write down my stuff at the gym…that way they next week I can BEAT THE LOG!! or at least try in some way. 1 more rep, 1 more lb…whatever.

I did 2 cardio sessions today…catch me if you can!!

maybe if I wish really really hard there might be a vid of a viking squating in this log on thursday…

ooh, I’ll start wishing with ya!!

I’ll be the asshole, in hopes of him proving me wrong, bit I don’t think edgy has the balls to post a squat vid.

Did someone say squat video? 0_0

Oh, on Thursday, okay.

Hi Edgy :stuck_out_tongue:

Squat vid would be fun.

I’m the same way about programs. I like to switch it up and do different stuff. So far my intuitive training model has not steered me wrong.

^ no, it certainly hasn’t Veg!!

stares intently at Veggies Avi

For Ink and the rest’ve ya’all~
