So wait, you can’t be hyooge and have abs? Now I’m confused! Whatever happened to “power building”, Inky?! Isn’t that the quest for strength AND abz?

Fuck that shit, just get strong enough to total over 9000 AND you’ll get huge. That’s my new plan of attack. Training ADD? Nope, not me, not anymore. STRENGTH FTMFW!
9000 pounds…

so at last count,
Bench = 315
Squats = 345
Deads = 315 (but I could easily be 1RM at 345

975 lbs…thats a LONG ways from 9000!!

BLUSH

that was an awesome article Cupcake!! this is the diet you’re following? when do you workout? when do you eat? how do you distribute the calories? I guess I need to read the article more, no?
I saw that you eat pancakes after you train, could I do that even tho I hit the sack about an hour after training?

these are questions that I must seek answers for!!!

thanks again~
More like a way of eating. I honestly don’t count calories. Haven’t counted a calorie since I started eating like this. And I still do squats and milk, you don’t give up strength or the quest for muscles. I actually feel a lot bigger than I was a few months ago.

I work out around noon, but I don’t see how spiking your insulin will before bed will be bad if you have it as a post-workout meal. You can have pancakes, sweets, a burger and fries, or baked potato and chicken if you want. I just try to get in a lot of carbs. My other non-insulin-spike meals consist of meat, veggies and nuts.
I just had dinner and it was rotisserie chicken (however you spell that), green beans and creamed spinach. Delicious and no insulin spike. Dairy doesn’t spike insulin, yay for that.

I’m not trying to sell you on anything, do what you feel is right. But don’t make a decision to make Ink or whoever else happy. I know what it’s like to want to shred bodyfat and gain muscle at the same time. And feel like you have to give one up. I just found a happy solution with the Insulin Advantage article.

I’m buying whatever you’re selling, Cupcake.

I hear’s ya. I’ll figger something out. soon, too, I hope.

I <3 you!

srsly doubt that.

srsly.

I had to go take a tour of the Viking hub to refresh my memory of the orange gift wrap.

220 looks very good on you, Handsome.

Very nice quads for the tunic action, delts to sink teeth into…gazes off for a minute…huh? Did I just say that out loud?

Anyway, whatever you’ve been doing, it’s working.

And that shredded beef dish is looking really good. No pun intended. Yum.

Like your scale?

I have that affect on women :stuck_out_tongue:

Edgy…you’re welcome my friend! KILL IT!

Well 9000 is the BIG goal, mini goal 1000 (just 25lbs more to go)

Where is the new pic in tilf?
Ummm not that I looked for it or anything. blush

ftr, I hate cardio too.

But running up hills? Vikings LOVE THAT!! what about sledge hammering a tire? Throwing sand bangs around? tons of stuff you can do that doesn’t have to be traditional boring sad cardio.

Hi Puffy!

Thanks for the ego boost! that pic was from Feb of 2010, I probably have 5-6 lbs of lean mass since then, so if I got to 220 now I would be a little more on the shredded side.

Orange gift wrap? blush

HEY! I have been thinking of spending some nights at the park doing some windsprints…but I like the idea of carrying sandbags, or hammering on things.

norse people don’t drink wine. it’s not happening

Hi Nikki, Hi Frenchie! Outstanding weekend T-Vix pics! I wanna be closer friends with ya’all…

Back in the Gym finally…I decided to do my 4 day split, that is not too far from teh 5/3/1 that everyone is doing around here, same split, but it’s more of a low rep/high rep program. I’ve been having some good luck with lately.

Saturday - Chest
Bench
warmup, then 245x3x8
FB DB 70’sx15x5

then Tris & Calves…

Sunday - Back
Wide grip pulldowns 5 sets 15-10 reps
Pendelays - 225x8-5x5
1 arm rows (w/ one side of a loaded Oly bar…I’ll have to get vid of that for ya’all
EZ curls 95x10x5
Hammer Curlz 45’s x 10 x 5 sets

Calves.

funny…this is the first dedicated 2 weeks off since the first of the year, and I swear that I woke up this morning bigger and more ripped than ever. I know that time off is required on programs like the one I’ve been on, but dedicating myself to NOT got to the gym is against all that I believe it?

crazy, no?

Right now I am still in the making the gym a habit stage so taking time away would be too easy for me. When you mean time away do you mean not lifting at all? If so you could do a 5/3/1 style deload (where you lift 40%/50%/60% of your 90% for 5 reps) that way you can still go to the gym while giving the muscles a rest.

Is the viking bigger now, after his rest? 0_0

yeah, bigger. Feels like it anyways.

and, I don’t de-load. I’m old school. When I take time away from the gym, it is ALL away. this lights me up for another program, and lets my joints heal from the last program.

It’s worked for me for years.
