Training has been spotty due to work and all that backyard work.
all in all, I put in 7600 pounds of flagstone. that was a workout!
anyways, I am vowing to get back to the gym tomorrow and the rest of the week. I’m hangin tough on what program…I like the 4 day split that I have been on since the first of the year, I’m getting some great development on my chest, back and shoulders, but I am so tempted to go on a Full Body Training schedule and drop all carbs. this would help me to drop 15 pounds of BF, get me to a real lean 220 and possibly see some abz.
I like being heyooge.

Abs are the least important. Big back, big shoulders, big legs, big chest, are way more important. If you look big and strong wearing a shirt, that is what counts. You can’t see abs through a t-shirt. Big scary viking ftw!

As for your debate about cutting - I’m going to go the opposite way on this - just to confuse things.
Why not cut a bit of fat so you can show some abs at the pool? I don’t think you’ll have to cut much, Edgy. Lean down in May and stay there for 4 or 5 months - it’s not that long, then do a bulk in the fall and winter if you want.
The pics in your hub are looking great, regardless. You’ve got a lot of muscle there, and I’d guess it wouldn’t take you long at all to start showing some abs. Cutting for a few weeks is NOT going to make the Viking look small! Just my .02.

It’s what I’m doing, and I gained 8 pounds (down a couple of pounds though, weighing at 146 now so that’s a gain of 6 pounds now) and, as of yesterday, down .9% BF.
I just eat carbs before and after training, a LOT after training, and the rest of the meals are low-carb and no-insulin spike (gotta remember high fructose corn syrup and molasses and such spike insulin. No BBQ sauce :P)

that’s what I did last year, got down to about 220, in fact there’s one pic in my hub, the one with the orange block in it…I think I was about 220 in that one. these days, I’m carrying more lean mass, and could probably get away with losing a few.

Mac and Cheese is really more of a twice a year thing, so that won’t be an issue, in fact I do eat pretty lean as it is, no pizzas, cheesburgers or burrito’s for the most part. I could cut out the sweets ( I have a horrendous sweet tooth) and that could make a difference. I cut out breads and potatoes and pasta and eat pretty much just meat and veggies and fruit. except b-fast, I do have a cup of oatmeal.
Oh…I hate cardio…ftr.
