thanks Dday - I have always squatted off my toes, and have only recently been working on it. the shoes help ALOT!
I’m gonna give this a shot when I dead again on Sunday AM.
btw…should I be cocky that the 49’ers are in the playoffs?

Actually yes you should, ride it brother, ride it like a $2 whore.

Same thing for squats. Think of lifting your toes up, and it helps keep you back where you need to be rather than tipping forward.

my blood type is O+ and I think this makes a diff in the no carb, low carb diet. I can still gain if the calories are there.
but both of my sons are AB+, and cannot live without carbs, and will stuff away more carbs in one sitting than I eat all week. I’m sure it has something to do with their age, but mostly to do with thier blood type. they’re of Mediterranean descent, like yourself~
that diet is freaking awesome, did you figger out the macros yourself, or did you read it?
whats Wendlers, the coveted 5/3/1 that most around here are doing?
Not sure about blood type, but I know I am not HIV positive.
As for macros, I read the book. For me it’s more about getting enough calories. W/this job, it’s a constant movement. & the fact my metabolism runs rampant. So I just pretty much drink my fats. IE- EVOO & the whipping cream. Though I am now putting butter on all my red meat.
& yeah to the coveted 5/3/1. It’s simplified, & easy to work w/the blackiron beast calculator.

Truth. I ended up using a short cut and bought squat shoes, made a ton of difference. My squat has 99 problems but depth ain’t one (now).

Christmas cookie season, that’ll screw up any diet!
This, but I don’t want to be someone who doesn’t bake Christmas cookies.
Hi Edgy. Glad to see you’re still going strong over here.
Print - Do you like salmon? It’s high in fat and protein and the fats are good for you. The amount of food you guys can eat makes me jealous. And the conventional wisdom would be that eating like that would make you look like Chris Farley, right? Leaning down and getting stronger. Wow.

Dday and I both would say we can not eat like most people.

Hello beautiful. (Puff, not you Edgy) Hope all is well w/you.
I am NOT a fan of salmon. Just can’t stomach it. Now, I am open to any other suggestions you may have. I’m not one who strays from the path to often. I definitely need more of the good fats. I believe the diet calls for that to be around 60%.

HAH! Print! You eat THE most ridiculous meals! Why don’t you just put those hotdogs in a blender with some ketchup and mayo, call it “The Backwoods Gainer Shake” and call it a night. Seriously, you’re going to give yourself gout with that shit! Whatever happened to tuna and eggs? What about chicken? You can’t eat chicken? Oh my goodness…
Anyways.
Hi Edgy!! I’m all up in you biz today!
And funny, someone just told me yesterday about the toes up trick during DLing (not squatting though…). He said it also helps him push through the heels. Basically lifts his toes and then “slams” them down right as he pulls.

Keep truckin’, my friend!
Can you afford GrassFed Beef?
Of course I can, I’m rich…
With love.
I have priced it here and I have a hard time spending the money for it. Especially with how much I have to eat.

Hi Maschy! You know getting Edgy into some Fivefingers so he can feel his heels making contact with the floor is the goal here. Not that anyone should take squat advice form me. I think I’m just going to go to town on the leg extension machine. That thing is giving me more definition than my sad squats.
Print - I know you like crab, so I was just thinking outside the box here. Plus I love seafood. And I’ll bet your doctor doesn’t know what you’re doing. He’d like to see your bloodwork, HIV status not withstanding.
Edgy - Did you just invite me to post all my diet and training stuff on your log? It’s a hell of a lot more boring than Print’s now that I’ve come down off the Christmas cookie high, I’ll tell you that much. Taking Ballet twice a week now - that’s four hours of ballet so this is serious. I have a fantastic teacher and I’m loving it.
