Edgy: Alone With My Friends

you look to be on your toes a bit on those pulls. what kind of shoes are you wearing? usually that is due to having some sort of arched athletic shoe, vs. something flat like a chuck t or wrestling shoe. just my two cents[/quote]

wassup Pete?

I wear chucks on DL and Squat days. I have to really concentrate on staying on the balls of my feet, and when I get a bunch of weight in front of me, I get a little intimidated…

I should get a vid of my feet one day.

thanks~

ok, then focus on keeping chin up in the air, that seems to help most get back on their heels.

Been doing it for almost a week, and so far i’ve been sleeping a little better. I’m not getting up to pee as much, either. That’s the most noticeable thing, so far.

I read the couple of threads about wheat allergies and some of the symptoms sounded like they applied to me. Especially, the bloated stomach. I go through periods where I have a pretty flat stomach, then others where i’m just bloated horribly and it’s really started to bug me.

What about you?

I had some stomach issues, especially when I drink beer, and I had equated that to the wheat in the beer. sometimes it would be a problem, and sometimes not - hard to tell.

I do sleep more sound, but I also am able to concentrate better and it seems like my moods have stabilized, not that there were any real problems with those things before, but it is noticeable. i think.

anyway - since I had some problems putting on my pants this weekend, I’ve decided to go carb-free for the next month or so to see about dropping some BF. it works for me, and I think the issue that I have had in the past with carb-free is that I stay on it too long. this time I plan on being on if for 4 weeks, then back to a regular diet for 3 weeks, then back on the carb free for another 4 weeks.

that should get me down to 12-15% BF, around 115-120 lbs. I’d be okay with that.

I’ve been doing the Anabolic diet for about 2months now & can’t believe how lean one can get. Takes away all hard to get rid of excess fat (love handles) Easy to do & rather enjoyable. Just a matter how well you can function on very little carbs during the week.

AHAHAHA I thought he was mocking dudes that think they`ll be super ripped if they weigh next to nothing !!!

To echo PeteS, you want to actually focus on driving through your heels, not the balls of your feet. Balls to the bar on your approach, heels through the floor from the start.

Simple enough, right?

I did the anabolic diet a couple of years ago, and loved the high fat bacon lifestyle.

seems I lost some weight, but then the the weight loss stalled, and I lost interest.

and, I think it was around christmas cookie season, that’ll screw up any diet!

Pete & Inky - will do, I appreciate the suggestions.

405 is around the corner…

LOL!

Edgy I have the same issue with going on the balls of my feet when I pull, that small change to your approach will make a world of difference, you can probably pull 405 now.

think I should give it a shot next Saturday?

btw Matty - your new avi sucks.

just sayin…

Edgy - Both! Go for the 405 again, you got it in ya.

man - dunno what it is, but last night I couldn’t get the 185 MP.

spent many many minutes warming up.

loaded up the bar, got under it and poooooshed~

nuthin. mebbe got it past my ample forehead, but far from up.

embarrassing.

last week, got two sets of 2 - was scared to go for 3.

oh well, finished up with the ancillary work, and got a good pump anyways.

Hey Print,

since you don’t have a log, what has your training been like, and gimme your daily menu on the A-Diet.

any short term goals?

I only attempt PR’s on MP every 4 weeks or so, just like everything else got to rotate it.

yeah, but 185 PR on MP is hard for a man of my intelligence to accept.

You’ve got 405 in you right now, if you pull back, and ride that weight through the whole ROM. Once it gets hard, keep pulling, and you can lock it out.

Don’t be scared of it either, it’s just weight.

Some days you got it some days you dont.

Its also very hard to hit PR’s when you are restricting calories. Believe me I could write a book about that.

I’ve been running Wendlers for about 8mos w/the BBB as my accessory work. Started the A-diet in Oct & ran the first 12days w/30 or less carbs. I immediately felt a difference. Slept 100x better, I’m a multi-pee during the night. That was cut down to no more than 2x & some nights not at all.

Took a break the week of xmas due to family obligations & threw my back out. Was laid up the entire week of NY’rs. Wasn’t all bad, Vodka & pain-killers can be fun. I also did it w/out adult supervision.

Now I’m back to the grind. Started the A-diet again, though I’m not going to run the 12 days to re-start. Doing 5 & than carb loading. My problem is gaining wt. I love this diet because it leans you up, but in my case I need to add all the carbs I can get on the weekends. In fact I’ll do a Fri. night pizza w/beer to get a early jump on it. I will say one of the biggest things I’ve noticed & why I am still on it is because I did get stronger quick.

I’m back to Wendler’s but going to do a cycle of the Triumvirate. The BBB, as much as I loved it, tore my old ass up. I like Wendler’s cuz of the simplicity. W/all I got going on, it makes my training so much easier & enjoyable.

Hope I answered all of your questions satisfactorily?

Edit- Whoops… What I’ve been eating.

Morning- 3 scoops protein, 4 tablespoons EVOO, 4 tablespoons Heavy whipping cream, 24oz water.

10a- 4 hard boiled eggs & either sausage or bacon

Lunch- Either 4 hot dogs or 2 Hot Italian sausages w/14 cheddar cheese cubes.

2p- Pepperoni, cheese, bologna.

Dinner- Red meat, asparagus, A&W diet rootbeer w/4 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream.

9p- 2 scoops of protein & 16oz of water.

I’m a creature of habit, so more often than that I will almost eat the exact same thing every day.

Short term goal- The opportunity to make sweet sweet love to you very soon.

Someone somewhere told me if you have a hard time staying on you heels while pulling to lift your toes. Seems to work for me as I tend to lean forward too.

my blood type is O+ and I think this makes a diff in the no carb, low carb diet. I can still gain if the calories are there.

but both of my sons are AB+, and cannot live without carbs, and will stuff away more carbs in one sitting than I eat all week. I’m sure it has something to do with their age, but mostly to do with thier blood type. they’re of Mediterranean descent, like yourself~

that diet is freaking awesome, did you figger out the macros yourself, or did you read it?

whats Wendlers, the coveted 5/3/1 that most around here are doing?
