The children are taking over. A little heavy on the effects, but a really fat crunchy tone and some very raw unleashed tasty power. Technically not overwhelming, but the feel is way beyond most guys this young

One thing my father taught me was that my liking or not liking somebody has nothing necessarily to do with how good they are as musicians.
I loved the Scorpions, simple metal with some decent leads from Micheal Schenker through Ulrich Roth and then Matthias Jabs. I couldn’t stand YES for the most part who had undeniably 100 times more musical ability than the Scorpions ever had.
Sounds like your father was a wise man :o) When it comes to AC/DC…The stand out man will always be Bon Scott in my eyes. I love him fiercely, and for all their simplistic guitar playing and replacement singer stamina, Bon will always be my sole reason for never putting AC/DC out to pasture, on the whole.
I like that you mentioned The Scorpions, they were a solid band, I don’t care what anybody says. Rudolph Schenker is excellent, and his brother Michael certainly has his place among the best. I even have old UFO stuff. He just played here downtown, I didn’t get to catch the show unfortunately.
I think I’ve seen “World Wide Live” a hundred times since I was a kid. I’d love to own a copy now, …I’m a sucker for nostalgia.

Wow, I realize this is an old post, but that Scorpions album cover brought back memories. First concert I ever attended back in 1982 The Blackout Tour. Mom bought me a ticket and I walked to the venue after school, I was in the sixth grade. Quiot Riot opened for them when they were first getting big with Mental Health and Cum On Feel The Noize. Huh, how the years go by.

kid would be awesome if he could keep time.
I think you may be hearing the somewhat overdone digital delay.

well, if you’re listening from the top down, he’s pretty good. but if you’re listening from the bottom up he’s pretty much in his own world.
count the four bar phrases and move your whole body along with the rhythm and you’ll see what i mean: he’s constantly entering ahead or behind. he’s not in the groove. those phrases would have much more pop and meaning if he were…same notes same phrases just get them in the groove.
never mind the noodling on the in betweens… even if he would just focus on nailing those big tonic and dominant bends right to the 1 with the bass and the crash and get out of the way on the big 3 beat, there’d be such better shape to it all.
This guy, while he doesn’t play the guitar (I’m sure he could) plays so goddamn well and so fast…very polished and one of my favorite songs. Watch the whole thing and look at how fast he plays:
Also, I say we adopt this kid and force him to play until he’s 18. He’s ONLY 11 YEARS OLD ! We can keep him going on Kim Chee on the occaisional cheat meal of Korean BBQ. Freakin talented, and watch his other covers of Clapton in his profile.
(Watch this one first before you watch the one of the kid below it)
(Now, the kid)
