Eccentric-Less Training Without Sled

Bip Good idea your sled.

I was trying to have a good grip bands, as i’m using like a normal rope…

Where do you buy your bands? In england? I live in europe too.

cheers
I’m using the TRX that my gym has (exactly the same as the one CT and Kevin are using in the newest videos, I think). They have two, so (so far) they don’t mind me borrowing one for 20 minutes.
You could try making loops at the ends of the rope and attaching carabiners and standard cable attachment handles. Both should be cheap and very easy to get.
Since you live in Europe (assuming you’re not in the UK) you can use that setup with a snow sled. That’s what I want to try when I go to Poland for the holiday. I’m just worried my 15 month old nephew might be too light for ballast :stuck_out_tongue:

PS You should be able to get a TRX in Europe (UK at least, but that makes it likely to be shippable everywhere else), but I think it’s overpriced for what it is. Go with the rope and handles first, should be just as good and much cheaper.

Yes i’m able to get i search after you write TRX. But i came WTF, thats a lot for a bands lol

Yes i ship a lot of things from uk without any problem, and i will try to attach a handles to the rope i found some that are used in the cables machines that can easily be attached.

PS: Do you use rubber bands? I was searching a good supplier in europe, as CT only talk about Iron woods and another one… i found pullum, but i’m searching for more alternatives. Thanks for the support!

I was thinking about getting some from Pullum after the new year, but I don’t know if they’re the cheapest yet. I’ll have to research it a bit this Christmas. I know they sell FatGripz for a much higher price than several other places in the UK, so it’s not unlikely there is a cheaper place for bands somewhere too.

I already found a good substitute for TRX, in ebay.uk i just have to put a little bit more intelligence and work

If you find any place with rubber bands please tell me. Thanks

Sure, hopefully I won’t forget over the next 2/3 weeks :stuck_out_tongue:

BiP-Prowler Mark II. Now upper-body compatible.

If your gym has a stretching mat, you can put a plyo box upside down on that. Then put weights in the box and push.

About manual treadmill pushing, I think that’s the kind of treadmill they used in the Hart Dungeon.

I piss everyone off greatly at my school gym by using the preacher curl bench (and sometimes other random pieces of equipment) as a sled. Good times

I like the idea of riding a sled down the hill, and you can even drag someone up the hill on the sled and ride down together.

Or if you don’t have a sled, maybe roll down.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I do something quite similar BiP…I tie those ropes onto ‘powerbags’ and drag them around. If you put a bar through the handles and hold it against your chest, it basically works as a harness.

is standing eccentric-less chest flies applicable to sled work? does it hit the chest muscle doing that exercise?

If u can’t bring a sled to the gym, can u split up ur workout - i.e., do the squats at the gym and 2 hours later do the sled work?

how about doing standing only intervals on a stationary bike turned up to maximum resistance?
I mentioned this before… not really an option. First because you are limited in the movements you can do. Second because even with max resistance I don’t think that it’s enough and you can “cheat” by using your bodyweight to push the pedal down.

I said it a zillion time: THERE IS NO REAL SUBSTITUTE FOR A SLED… BUY ONE OR MAKE ONE.
yes chest flies hit the chest. No it is not a good exercise to substitute for a sled.

im not substituting regular chest flies. i was just wondering if doing sled work/eccentric-less chest flies is effective and worth doing it on a sled?

Are you talking about hooking up straps or TRX to a sled and doing flies that way? If so, in my experience those worked pretty well. However, i wouldnt substitute for regular flies. Maybe just for supplementary exercise and variety. The problem is they dont keep a constant tension on the pecs.

I think if you have the time to go twice a day, more power too you. Ive always done my cardio in the AM and never before a workout, always following. But i think if thats what works best for you, then its great.

I know CT has said no substitute, but for a completely last resort some things I have used which Im 100% certain gave me a bit more leg size:

Steep Hill Sprints (I did them weighted, with a 45lb sandbag over my shoulders) - the only Eccentric is walking down the hill…which is hardly strenuous

Could also try partner resisted 25-40m sprints (sprinting with a partner holding on and resisting the back of your shirt)
